Michael's Stores, Inc. (3 shootings) and Exxon/Mobil (2 shootings) corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas. I don't know if it's relevant.

Well, that may indeed be the case...not parked within visual range...

That may bring up another "problem" tho for the shooter: concealing the gun as he moves on foot.

Not a huge problem, just another aspect...

Are there areas like that in the search perimeter?

Metro DC is incredibly transient. Add to that the 10-12 colleges in Metro, plus the thousands of tourists, and you have a formula that allows someone a huge sea of humanity to disappear in. And while he's operating quite a bit in the suburban areas, it is not unusual to see out of state/out of area license plates and think nothing of them.

While the notion of "neighborhood watch" would work in many other towns and areas of the country, the notion breaks down in any sort of moderate to heavily trafficed area in Metro DC.

Out of all the shooting vicinities, the only ones that would qualify within your parameters are the two in Fredericksburg. And even then with their proximity to the interstate, there would be less of an eye batted at any "unusual" vehicle there as well.

I'll bet you a sixpack it's not ME Terrorists. They wouldn't leave the Tarot card with "I am God" scrawled upon it.

Of course, if you want to believe it's ME Terrorists and that the government is covering it up, I suppose you could believe that the card was never actually dropped by the shooter. I go for the simpler view.

Thanks, that was interesting.

Our government is completely insane to allow these psychos to live among us.

Diversity is one thing. This is suicide.

After last Friday's Fredericksburg gas station shooting, police seriously searched the Ramada Inn across the street from the gas station. I suspect the trajectory suggested the shot came from there. Washington Post article the next day said law enforcement was aware that a few of the most recent shootings happened near hotels. I then noticed on Saturday that there was a clear line of sight from the roof and upper stories of a Ramada Inn to where the Haitian was shot on Georgia Ave. in D.C.

Breaking: Manned surveillance aircraft and "host of other equipment" authorized by Pentagon.

If this is true how much you wanna make a bet this guy will stop the shootings cold!!! Unless he wants to be caught!

They have video of a suspect that they are showing to witnesses. Gee, why would they not want to show this to the next possible targets? (you or me). Would this cause a hardship to some group, Moose?

Or maybe we could have the population enabled and looking for the next incident and doing something more than the cops have done, who were within feet of the past scenes.

But it seems to me someone inside the hotel(s) would've heard it. Of course, they're not telling us everything, but would all the reporters be able to control themselves and NOT report it? They've shown very little concern or restraint so far.

I'm not sure how much sense it makes to blame Moose. I suspect the shots are being called at a much higher level than his.

You make an excellent point. We have a proactive population willing to help. They should be using it more (they even screwed up the 888 with 800 at first :p). MUCH more.

"you have a formula that allows someone a huge sea of humanity to disappear in"

In any sea of humanity, you always are going to have several neighbors. I'm in L.A., which is probably even more tightly packed than DC. If they were offering a $500,000 reward, and all you had to do to get it would be find a cream colored van with a ladder on it, people would look at all the vans with which they have contact, and I don't think it would be too long before it was found. This isn't just like Neighborhood Watch, this is more like the lottery.

So, I think the sniper has found some way to lessen the chances that someone else knows about or notices his vehicles.

Yea the FBI. When they join in they take over the whole case. He is taking orders from them now (I betcha). And they are inexperienced to deal with serial/sniper killers.
