On "Late Edition" with Wolf Blitzer, our National Security Advisor Condi Rice was giving an excellent interview, explaining why it was North Korea who complicated the situation concerning nuclear weapons, not the U.S. (all of the pieces fell into place BEFORE Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech). At the end of the interview, Wolf asked her about Harry Bellafonte's comments on Powell and herself, and played the clip from Larry King Live. Her resonse:
"I don't need Harry Belafonte telling me what it means to be black."

When I caught the end of her interview, and heard that remark, I started clapping and said "Way to go Condi!!" Here are some of the other response made by other FREeepers:

Goodness gracious, did I hear right? Did Condi Rice really just say that Belefonte did not know what it means to be black?

BEST COMMENT OF THE DAY!!
Wolf Blitzer showed Condeleeza Rice a tape of Larry King Live, where Harry Belafonte criticizes her.
Condeleeza Rice says:
If Harry Belafonte wants to discuss differences of political opinion, this is America, anyone can do it, but
"I don't need Harry Belafonte telling me what it means to be black."
Smackdown!

She who? You mean Condi? If so, then thats a great comeback. She tends not to hold back her opinions the way Powell might.

Condi for President! Ann Coulter for Veep!

Especially from some has-been lounge lizard like Belafonte. I'm sure that NONE of the networks would treat seriously Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, or Walter Williams lecturing Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or Harry Belafonte on what it means to be black.
I'm sick of these lefties, particularly the dimbulb performers, getting face time like they have anything to contribute to the well-being of society.

Man, that picture of her has ATTITUDE! It shows her as she is PERFECTLY! :-) The only issue I can think of that I disagree with her is abortion, but no one is perfect. If she ran for President, she would have MY vote.

Harry, let's see YOUR resume! Condoleeza Rice is how old? And, she's working for the President of the United States. What have you accomplished in your whole miserable existence? Day-O, that's what!
To: Pyro7480
What's Harry's response?
Surely he's not going to let some uppity house n***er -- and a female one at that -- talk back to him.
And Harry, there's another one on the Supreme Court! Can you believe it? Don't forget him!
This guy's been drinking too much Sharpton kool-aide.

Good retort! I'm glad to hear she responded. Time magazine buried Belafonte's comment on about the 3rd to the last page, noting that Powell's 'diplomatic' response made "Belafonte's comments seem extreme." Seem extreme??
In the same issue they put an Andy Rooney comment about his dislike of women on the sidelines covering NFL games in the front of the magazine. Along with the NOW presidents response. Pure fluff.
I wonder how they'll cover Condi's remark. Or if they'll cover it at all.
