Family Scours Area For Boy

HIGH POINT -- The search for a missing 13-year-old continued Saturday with the help of a state police helicopter and a tracking dog, and his family has started a reward fund for information leading to his return.

Christopher Dixon was last seen in front of his family's home on Gordon Road on Thursday about 3:30 p.m. One witness may have seen him later that afternoon.

Police, family, community and church members have since been combing the wooded areas around the house.

High Point Police called in a Highway Patrol helicopter Saturday to assist in the search after a volunteers and police searching the woods could not find any clues to the boy's whereabouts. Capt. Ron Stowe of the High Point Police Department said the helicopter, which began flying a little after 4:30 p.m., searched for the boy until dark. The helicopter flew from Eastchester Drive to Gordon Road.

The family is taking donations for a reward to be given for information leading to Christopher's return, said Laura Gentry, Christopher's cousin. She said the family has received $400 in donations so far.More...

I know this boy personally and my daughter is in his sister's class. He is an upstanding, sweet, and loving kid...please pray for his safe return and help us get the word out- the family is devastated. The news has not yet reported this, late this evening new search dogs seemed to have found Chris' scent in the woods across the street from the Dixon home. At this time there is still no sign of him.

To everyone..thank you a million times for your prayers, for the last 24 hours I have been helping the family with media relations and it has been rough being close to this situation. The police intially treated this as a runaway..no one including myself believes that Chris would ever do this to his Mother.

Mark Klaas told us that Chris' mom Holly should speak to the media about her son and she is reluctant to appear on the Fox News Channel, please pray for courage.
