I realize I'm not an expert on aviation, but what are the chances that a dog on the ground would get sucked up into the engines? I would rather think that he'd get run over The chances are extremely good that the dog would have been sucked into the engine. Having been around C-5s alot, I can tell you that it is an unbelieveably powerful sucking machine.

Absolutely fascinating. Some people on this thread post factual data about "interactions" between wildlife and aircraft. Others post hallucinatory cartoons. I wonder what I should make of this phenomenon?
To: Skooz
We must have more dog regulations.

Try Try again till the job is done. But, but... the job was done. They caught the dog just fine.
To: Bush2000
How long would have been reasonable to catch the dog? An hour? 2 hours? 3 hours? 10 hours?
As long as humans are safely on the ground it could take a year for all I care. No amount of money is worth that dogs life. Only human life is more valuable.

The odd thing is that some people have issues with that line of reasoning.

Then you spend all your time catching all the strays in your neighborhood to keep them from being run over? And at airports don't planes land and takeoff?
To: Skooz
Thanks. I'm touched. Tell me, though: Does the author grow her own mushrooms?

No amount of money is worth that dogs life. I presume, then, that you are willing (and able) to pay the entire costs of shutting down the airport "long enough". Pleased to meet you, Mr. Gates.
To: ArrogantBustard
LOL! Actually it is from a rather odd (guess you know that already) site hosted by a cartoonist who translates other people's dreams into four panel cartoons.

It's because that line of reasoning assumes 1 things and ignores a whole lot of other realities. It assumes the dog is worth more than the lives of the folks in the air, on the ground chasing it and money expended in trying to apprehend it. It ignores the fact that the dog is not worth all of the aforementioned people and it's not worth they money they paid the guy to chase it - not in those circumstances.
If my dog was in the same situation I'd shoot it myself.

You have been blessed with an ability that few can claim, the ability to know what happened with out even being there. You can take your act on the road. Just don't fly.LOL......I love this retort! Thanks for a good hearty laugh!
