Lautenberg's closing statement was nothing but repeating the same old worn-out Democrap mantras...... Republicans are polluters, Tax cuts for the rich...big Clinton surplus....yada yada.
Polly wanna cracker?

At the end, the Louse tore a bunch of pages off a legal pad and folded them in half. If Forrester had any notes, he wasn't showing them. :)

It is now clear to me why Toricelli threatened to rip off Lousenberg's ____s. The man is despicable and was disliked by everyone in the Senate from both sides of the aisle.

Looks like Lautenberg won the debate. Forrester needed Lautenberg to be drooling and then maybe collapse from a heart attack. His performance tonight will be good enough for the soccer mom crowd.

"When asked what the best thing you could say about your opponent, the Louse made a smarmy comment...Forrester was gracious..."

Yes, this was very bad, or maybe I mean good. God, Lautenberg turns my stomach, always has. I really like Toricelli A LOT more than Lautenberg; he was cadaverous, mean and repulsive years ago!

I also liked how Forrester said his step-mother (from the age of 4, who raised him, his mom) was his heroine. If that don't win over the Jersey soccer moms, nothing will! If I wasn't so torn between being grossed out by Lautenberg and happy that I was seeing him fall on his face I might have gotten teary over the whole thing. For a boy to love his stepmom soooo much, and say so, at such a crucial moment says A LOT about the mom, and a good deal about the boy. Because you don't get the feeling from Forrester that he's a lip-biting cynic like you-know-who. GO DOUG!!!! GO NEW JERSEY!!! THROW THE BUMS OUT!!!!!

i just hope enough people saw this...and i thought pressman was OK

He said that the stress that the DemocRATs are putting him under insures that he wouldn't last more than six months in office, if elected.

I predict... Latutenberg (and Mondale as well) is merely a stand-in. By March 2003, they will have both stepped down and a younger RAT will have taken their place. I'll put $50 on this!

Forrester seems more confident and assertive as election time draws near. I hope he can rise above the voter fraud. There are not as many Lautenberg signs along the roads as there might have been in years past. We'll see how the roads look on Monday. Tuesday's coming....

It hadn't occurred to me that Mondale might also be suffering some sort of impairment, but he does seem to have remained in something of a time-warp with his mind-set. Makes you wonder, huh? A twenty year nap. That's about it in a nutshell.

Forrester got a little shrill. He should have slowed up a bit.

Lautenberg is half-senile, but the other half was slicker than I expected.

Gabe Pressman was clearly shutting down Forrester and looking the other way when the Lout interrupted and grilled Forrester like a criminal. They ganged up on him.

The NJ governor will replace Lout with himself. I don't know who will be doing the deed in MN--esp if the Rep wins as Gov. I think that ultimately Mondale has too much ego to step aside now that he could be the Senior (Moment) Statesman in the Senate.

But that's moot--Mondale is going to LOSE!

Forrester: "I am a pro-choice candidate"

He said that (atleast) twice. Not that I plan to let that change my vote but I figured that'd be of interest to the many one-issue voters on FR.

Bump--I saw the last 45 minutes of the debate--Once again
Forrester made the old man look even older than he is !
Old Frank keeps repeating and mumbling the demorats
old line about "the top 1% getting too much back" and that he would give it to the lower classes--and the old one about raising the minimum wage rate etc.etc.

Not ever having learned that lower taxes FOR ALL is the only way to go and that raising the minimum wage rate only loses jobs for the young and raises the cost of doing business as the increase is used to raise all the labor costs.

Go Forrester!!

I wish that were true but it ain't. The Lout's got this wrapped up, IMHO.

God, I hope so! I remember watching the Lazio vs. Clinton debate, thinking how he nailed it. The press made a big deal about how he "invaded" Hillary's space, not who won the debate.

Oh, Lautenberg knows that very well. So does the Democratic leadership. But the dumbasses who vote Democratic.. they don't know. And the Democratic leadership's counting on that.

Might not work in Minnesota. They just might have a Republican governor come January, who hopefully would appoint a Republican. And, if Mondull does win and the RATs try to replace him before January, they have Jesse Ventura to contend with. And he ain't too happy with the RATs right now.

The sad thing is that such proclamations won't get him more than a handful of votes, because that Crowd knows that it can depend on the Democratic Party to roll over on all their issues.
