Just get the economy moving again and the 2004 politics will take care of themselves. New round of tax cuts and especially an energy bill, which is truly a jobs bill.
I doubt we'll see much of Alan Keyes, but I was also thinking that, provided George Bush is seen as a success (i.e., he wins reelection and has 50%+ approval rating in 2007/2008), the most likely Republican Presidential nominee for 2008 is clearly Jeb Bush.
No one in the Congressional leadership is all that popular, well-known or good on TV. And no other governor is likely to come close to Jeb Bush on these measures either, and Florida is a pretty big state as well, helping Jeb Bush for either President or Vice-President.
