For those of you who are mad at PA for Arlen Specter, take a gander at Santorum. At least we got one right.

Am I right in saying Santorum has actually toned himself down a bit? Maybe it's because x42 is gone.

I wish Santorum were the Senate leader, and then on to President.

If I remember correctly Mrs. John Heinz fought like heck to make sure Santorum did not get the "Heinz Senate Seat" and she made sure everyone knew about it. When her husband
runs for president they will have to make sure she goes through some sort of sensitivity training. She is a loose cannon for anyone running for the top spot.

I, for one, am alot calmer since x42 departed. But you are right about Rick.

Considering her husband died in a helicopter crash, I don't think he'll be running for president.

He hasn't moderated much, as much as he has become less available to the media.

You reminded me of something. I've had a theory for years about Clinton's success. But for the plane crash that killed Senator Heinz, we may have been spared the event that was called the Clinton presidency. When the special election was held for Heinz' replacement, Woolford (sp?) seemed to run and win on a health care platform. Bill Clinton picked up on that theme in 92 and the rest is history. Thoughts?

Senator Dean Barkley is on now.

To: MadelineZapeezda
Sorry. I don't really follow the lives of Senatorial widows. "Years ago" I was still in junior high school and very a-political. All that mattered to me was football, girls and..well that's about it. Of course, not much has changed.

Considering her husband died in a helicopter crash, I don't think he'll be running for president.Just to keep the record straight, her husband, John Heinz, died when a helicopter collided with the light twin aircraft the Senator was on. The plane the Senator was on had an unsafe gear indication while approaching to land at Philadelphia. The helo pilot overheard the conversation between the twin and air traffic control and volunteered to fly near and below the twin to take a look. Tragically, due to miscommunication, the aircraft struck each other about 7 miles north of the PHL airport and the debris fell into a school yard killing and injurying children as well. I know this as I was in the control tower when it happened!
Ms, Heinz, being the liberal she is, went on to marry John Kerry, current dem candidate for president, who will get waxed by W. What this country will never do is elect a northeast liberal to be president!

Arlen Specter is one of the President's most loyal supporters.
He has been Bush's leading spearthrower on judges, and he worked valliantly for Fisher's election.
Specter is quirky, but he's on our side, not their side.
Stop criticizing him. Your charges against him are not proven.
By the way, I'm glad to see someone agrees with me about President Santorum.

Another thing I like about Santorum is his support for telecommuting.

So I'm voting against Specter. I'm not, unless I'm 110 percent certain that the GOP will have 60-plus votes without him.
