I'm rather curious about the "or else" part, myself. Why make veiled threats? Why not just come out and say it? It's not like there aren't plenty of ways to make a case on the merits.

Oh, wait - I forgot how much easier it is to threaten than it is to persuade. I think they can forget about a million folks attending their rally - if that's the best they can do in terms of polemic, they'll be lucky to break triple digits.

Generally, folks like that sort out into a few categories.

• "Patriots for profit," who seek to make money from selling BS to very small niche audiences;
• Hardcore ideologues, who don't so much hate their fellow man as they wish he would either agree with their anointed vision or quietly step into the showers;
• Life's permanent losers, who figure that if that their life sucks, then so should everyone else's, so let's have a civil war;
• Those who want society to collapse into anarchy, because they figure they'll be holding the whip;
• and the mentally ill.
