President Bush is a STUD.
That's the impression you get from the excerpts from Woodward's new book "Bush at War," highlighted tonight on 60 Minutes. Much of it was based on lengthy interviews with Bush himself, who comes across as one tough customer.
Anybody else see this?

Loved the story about offering $50,000 to the Taliban leader to defect!

Even the most dense Religion of Peace Zealot understands "Heads on a Pike"! Let them be afraid for awhile.

I shudder everytime I think how close Gore came to being the President.

Yeah, that Taliban story was--literally--the bomb! Think that CIA guy has ever seen The Godfather? Dude!

Perhaps you all could offer a little more detail for those of us without network television

According to Woodward, this CIA tough guy meets a Taliban warlord and offers him $50,000 to defect. Warlord says, "I'll think about it," and leaves. CIA knows location of the guy's HQ. Later that day, the place gets bombed. Soon after, there's another meet with the warlord. CIA guy says, "Price just went down. Now I'm offering $40,000." Warlord, probably still picking gypsum from his teeth, mutters "I'll take it."
Sweet!

Just caught part of the piece-Woodward played tapes of GW and Laura that were of such poor quality, they sounded like he was wearing a wire when he interviewed the President and First Lady. I did hear Bush call the terrorists-"bastards, who know where to find me"- he sounded like Gary Cooper,in High Noon.

Probably just covering all bases to make sure his book is a best seller.

I dunno!

"Price just went down. Now I'm offering $40,000."What would have been better was the Michael Corleone offer: "Now you pay me $40,000 to let you defect."

Overall it made me very proud to have GW as our President!
All the more surprising since it was 60 minutes.
Made it pretty clear that we have a serious man as president who's going to do what needs to be done because it's the right thing to do.
I did notice that they were careful not to run such a positive piece on Bush until after the election, though.

I agree - I cannot even begin to fathom how desperately terrified this nation would have been under his command. Whew!
In fact, I believe the terror would be continuing to this day - because the dems would have refused to do anything meaningful. Lobbing a million dollar missle at an empty tent and hitting a camel in the butt - will no longer cut it.

If Gore would have won the election, we would have probably had two or three more 9-11's by now. Remember how the Democrats were outraged that we were rounding up Muslim men to interrogate? The ACLU and the college professors were screaming at top volume. Even the people that don't like everything President Bush has done must still be darn grateful that he is leading this country - and that he doesn't bow to the ACLU, the media, the professors or the Democrats. Our President has earned our respect and our gratitude.

If algore had won,we would all be wearing towels on our heads! Bush has balls, algore doesnt!
To: clintonsgohome
LOL! I read your reply as saying "Bush has balls galore"...hehehehe...guess that's true, too. God bless our President - a true warrior leader.

Me too.
