Last night was the first time I watched the show. I have seen excerpts but that's it. I found it amazing that women fell in love so easily and that he seems to have fallen in love too, in just six weeks. The shows must be scripted or are there actually that many stupid women who think they are desperate? Or do they just want someone else do the courting for them? The only thrill I could imagine in all this was winning the game then giving back the trophy.

The VS show was hot. I don't know about anyone else, but the sports bar where I play poker was brought to a halt. All 20 TV's switched over with 100 drooling guys screaming they now believe in a god.

This guy was on Leno and he asked him if there was a show where one girl will choose between 27 guys, would you apply? He said no! That is an indictment to ALL women!

I was waiting for her to refuse the Rose or the ring at the end.

Aaron has slept with two other girls during the show (according to media reports)

A good reality show just made for polygamists, why break so many hearts of so many well adjusted women?

What fool will believe that he will stop once he is "engaged" or "married"? You don't turn on and off your feelings that fast for anyone, period.

I think the women are emotionally needy to begin with, or else they wouldn't go on the show.

Out of the 25, there were blond bimbos with big (often fake) cleavage, Fatal-Attraction Chicks, gals on a lark, a few catfighters, and Helene, a slender, all-natural classy lady whose only imperfection seems to be a nervous giggle. When she's NOT nervous, it goes away.

On GMA this morning, Diane and Charlie trotted out the couple as well as Brooke, the 22-year-old Bama gal with the kneecapping brother. We learn that the final show was taped 2 1/2 months ago, and everyone involved had to stay mum and out of sight all that time as to not tip off the final outcome. We learn that Helene continues to live near Philly, Aaron is still in Springfield MO, the two ARE engaged but are intent on a "lengthy engagement," and Brooke is just as immature as we all thought she was.

We also learned that Aaron was pretty much prohibited from sharing his true feelings with the female contestants during the production - Helene only learns how he REALLY feels about her at the very end.

In the final episode last night, we also learned that Aaron's dad is a pilot, too, and is one level-headed cookie. In fact, his entire family was classy, down-to-earth, gracious - while still asking some really excellent questions of the girls.

The various ABC affiliates have also been fed a piece about the FIRST Bachelor - in which it's revealed that THAT "romance" is definitely over. She's in KC working at a radio station, HE's in L.A. hoping to become an actor. They are "friends."

The question remaining - during this "long engagement," will Aaron and Gwen, the gal eliminated in the penultimate episode, get together and revisit "what could have been." She was a very classy and cute, professional blonde who also would have been a good fit.

I don't think ANY of the viewers gave the first Bachelor couple a snowball's chance. THIS couple, we think, might have a real shot at it. They're both really well-grounded with solid backgrounds. Que sera'.

I wonder if they have a hard time finding girls for the show, most of them probably think it is like a beauty pageant or something.

You're missing the point: people will do ANYTHING to get on television. Are you aware that most of the contestants on that idiotic show Survivor hired their own agents and publicists, even if they were only on the show one week? I'm sure some of these women saw an appearance on this show, however humiliating, to be a chance at stardom, perhaps to get a better job, or at a minimum, to make themselves known and very attractive to those bachelors remaining in their own hometowns. As tacky as it is, it beats looking like a fool to the world on jerry springer.

I think they live too far away from each other (Philly and KC) , and Aaron will eventually break the engagement and call Gwen.

"Aaron has slept with two other girls during the show (according to media reports)"

I heard he didn't sleep a wink with them.

Actually, there WERE a couple that flat threw their body parts at him, but there are strong indications that he wasn't interested. And, there were a couple that he actually DID SLEEP with - fully-clothed. As in "get some sleep."

The girl he DID pick did NOT "give it out for free." May be one of the reasons she was picked.
