An American court has issued a summons against the next Saudi ambassador to Britain, saying that in his previous job he helped fund Afghanistan's Taliban regime while it sheltered Osama bin Laden.

The summons has been issued to Prince Turki al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence, ordering him to respond to a compensation claim for more than $600 million brought by the families of victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

I think this article was published earlier in the Daily Telegraph (UK) and posted here a day or two ago, perhaps under a different headline. But it's significant that it has been republished in the Washington Times. And I don't think the earlier post received nearly as much comment as it deserves.

It's interesting that Prince Turki resigned his intelligence post just a couple of weeks before 9/11. It could be coincidence--but maybe not. The timing reminds me of another coincidence, when clinton fired the director of the FBI, who held a post similar to Turki's, one day before he murdered Vincent Foster. Clinton was more careless and wreckless than the Saudis, and such glaring coincidences regularly happened around him.

Sorry about that. I haven't been online in a few days. Thanksgiving.

The timing of his resignation, as well as his connection to the Taliban and Binny does seem significant, especially in light of new info on the Saudi family being dug up by the trial lawyers representing the victims and families of 9/11, and the public accusations both by the CIA and congress.
