In Honor of those who gave their lives and those who were gravely disabled.
Thank You Brothers and Sisters for your sacrifices.

And Thank You to ALL who have and still support our Armed Forces.

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:

Three old men are at the doctor's office for a memory test.

The doctor says to the first old man, "What is three times three?"

"274," was his reply.

The doctor worriedly says to the second man, "It's your turn. What is three times three?"

"Tuesday" replies the second man.

The doctor sadly says to the third man, "Okay, your turn. What's three times three"?

"Nine" says the third man.

"That's great!" exclaims the doctor. "How did you get that"?

"Jeez, Doc, it's pretty simple," says the third man. "I just subtracted 274 from Tuesday."

Good Morning Everyone. Here's another way to support our Military and their families:

____________________________________________________________

The Mike Gallagher Show is broadcasting live from San Diego and is teaming up with Feed The Children to bring food/necessities to Military families who are in need. He's said their goal is to assist 1600 families this week.

If you would like to join "Gallagher's Army" and help FEED THE CHILDREN to support the families of our troops please visit here: "Gallagher's Army" and Feed The Children

DISCLAIMER: I am not an employee/representative of either The Mike Gallagher Show or Feed the Children. Just a listener to his show, and think this is a wonderful way to show our support.

I am thankful, to God, every day, for our nation, and our military. I found this article very appropriate to today's theme. The latest from The Federalist:

THE FOUNDATION
"The Hand of providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations." --George Washington

INSIGHT
"To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude." --Albert Schweitzer

ICTUS IMPRIMIS
"Be thankful for the smallest blessing, and you will deserve to receive greater. Value the least gifts no less than the greatest, and simple graces as especial favours. If you remember the dignity of the Giver, no gift will seem small or mean, for nothing can be valueless that is given by the most high God." --Thomas a Kempis

LIBERTY
"Americans, more than any other people in the world, have much to be thankful for, not only this year but also every year. Despite our many flaws, faults and problems we are the free-est people on earth. Be thankful for that. Be thankful, too that there are those who daily wage the fight on behalf of liberty. Be thankful also that we are the richest and strongest nation on earth; we cannot be bullied, threatened or intimidated. Be thankful, too, that there are those who never cease fighting to keep us strong and prosperous and free. Be thankful for the Founding Fathers who gave us a Constitution that is the means by which we keep our freedom and build our prosperity. Be thankful this year for a president who has confounded his critics and his nation's enemies by rising to the challenges that threaten our freedom and our prosperity. Be thankful, not in the abstract, but very specifically to God, our Father, who oversaw the creation of this nation and who has been there guiding and guarding through the more than 200 years of its existence. Ronald Reagan believed that God set this nation here between two oceans to be a beacon of freedom for the rest of the world. Be thankful that this is so and be extra thankful that God in His goodness put you here to enjoy all that this country has to offer. Look around the world: You will see that God has made you one of a special and privileged minority. Be thankful." --Lyn Nofziger

Another great thread!

The holiday depression thingy, is something that I have dealt with for 30 years. I do not understand it, nor can I stop it from happening.

The fact that there is a forum to read that even acknowledges that it does in fact exist, makes my day a bit brighter.

Thanks Tonk! From all of us!

This really happened to me today.

I was at work and someone transferred a call to me. I never should have received this call.

The woman said that she was calling from East Chester New York, and she was looking for some information.

Woman: Hi I am calling from East Chester and I have a question.

Radix: Gee, I have never heard of EastChester. Is that anywhere near WestChester?

Woman: No, I am calling from east Westchester.

Radix: Oh, so then are you familiar with the East Westchester NorthStars of the Southern Conference?

Woman: No!

Radix: Uncontrollable laughter!

I have been waiting to ask that question for more than 25 byears. Ever since I heard my first Cheech & Chong skit!

I had to share!

My hubby is a retired Marine, Aviation Ordnance. The military is always on my mind around the holidays. I know it is hard to be away from home and it is hard for your families too. Hopefully most of you have a set date when you will be able to come home. I don't mean to make anyone sad but to point out that you have great integrity to give up your own wants to serve your country. Your spouses also see the greater good in being willing to let you go and to support you in your service to your country.

Be strong in knowing that God is with you and will sustain you through each day whether it is a bad or a good one. We need you. You are doing a service to us and to those you are helping to be free. I could not sit in my home free if it were not for the bravery of all you and those before you. You are appreciated!

You're all in our prayers!
