Louisiana Senate race a dead heat

12/06/2002

Associated Press

BATON ROUGE, La. - Heading into Saturday's runoff election, U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., holds a slight edge over Republican challenger Suzanne Haik Terrell, according to a new poll.

But the race is still too close to call, according to the survey taken this week for Louisiana's Gannett newspapers by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research of Columbia, Md.

The poll of 625 registered voters, taken Monday and Tuesday nights, showed Ms. Landrieu favored by 47 percent of those polled and Ms. Terrell favored by 45 percent. Eight percent were undecided. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. That amounts to a dead heat, said pollster Brad Coker, owner of Mason-Dixon.

Just heard on WWL a black man express his outrage after receiving a fan in the mail with a pic of a slave woman picking cotton and on it written,"Vote Dec 7th so this won't happen again". He hated the juvenile tactic played by the Dems.

Also On Chef Menteur and Alcee Fortier there's a good deal of pro-life and Terrel signs. A good indication since the area is dominated by Vietnamese Catholics. Although in the more black dominated areas there are Landrieu signs.

The Dems playing the race card? Gee they must be spreading rumors Terrell is a slave owner who beats her blacks and kills those suspected of fleeing the plantation she owns out in the bayou. This is the kind of dirt expected from the party that ironically keeps blacks chained to the Liberal Plantation through fear. The Dems will stop at nothing to win.

KEY INDICATOR! All the poll pundits are callinig this race a dead heat. Then they say over and over that the Blacks need to get out for Landrieu to win. The poll pundits have been off in 2000 elections & the 2002 primary. Needless to say, they were wrong in favor of the Rats. In my humble opinion, they are wrong again and they are trying their best to assist Landrat. I still say Terrell will win with 52%. I will be at the poll at 6:00 before I go to drill.
P.S. I love watching the media coverage when the Rats lose!
If you live in Louisiana, GO VOTE FOR TERRELL!!!!!

Images of Election 2000 are returning to me about the NAACP ad that alluded to President Bush and James Byrd, the black man in Jasper, Texas that was dragged to death behind a pickup truck and was decapitated in the process. The ad pretty much inferred that Bush was behind the wheel of the pickup truck.....
