San Francisco -- A 26-year-old San Francisco man seeking $1.25 million from the city in a police-brutality claim said Friday that he was called a "faggot" by one or both of the officers, who cracked his ribs as they arrested him.

Fagan, 23, son of Assistant Chief Alex Fagan Sr., already has come under scrutiny for his part in an off-duty confrontation with two men on Union Street early Nov. 20. The younger Fagan, who joined the force in January 2001, has also been named in another claim filed against the city for alleged excessive use of force in an unrelated incident.

Young Alex is killing his dad's career. Thoughts of a being a police chief in SF are now dashed and retirement looms large. Alex Sr. grew up in the suburbs of SF in the east bay and is not prone to "tolerance" naturally. He must have really put forth an personal effort to rise to Asst. Chief. His kid doesn't seem to have the same self-discipline.

Actually, some friends of mine in the law enforcement community tell me that many Hispanics don't mind "pitching" to a gay "catcher." Of course, they think they're scum but they don't mind using one every now and then.

Kristal wrote in his police report that the officers had to subdue Jordan after he tried to grab Fagan's gun.

I'm confused. I thought that the left supported gun control and keeping firearms out of the hands of citizens. That is what these officers were doing.
