Good. I think we will pick up Mississippi, considering the financial abilities of Barbour.

We will pick up Mississippi with Governor Barbour.
We will pick up Kentucky with Governor Fletcher.
We will hold Louisiana with Governor Terrell.

Add another two Governorships to our total. 28

Someone on another thread wrote that he/she thought Suzie Terrell preferred being Governor all along. Has anyone heard/read anything to corroborate this?

Yes. I think if the GOP was serious about winning the Senate seat, it would have bounced Cooksey and Perkins out. With them out, Terrell would have been an easy winner on November 5, but with a Saturday runoff, Democrats are easier to get to the polls.

I can't see what Terrell would not win the Governorship. She won 48.4% of the vote, and there are few serious Republicans thinking about running other than her. Were Terrell to run, she could approach 50% easily.

I hope Haley Barbour won't pay for Trent Lott's faux pas. I'll bet the Democrats will remind black voters about Lott's comments about Strom Thurmond.

and maybe we can get Cooksey to return to the House after a two-year rest, seeing as we lost that seat.

don't forget that in 4 years oklahoma is coming back around, as that loss was certainly an aberration

Ditto for Kansas and Wyoming. Any RATS who think these states are "trending Democratic" just because they elected RAT governors last month is smoking something.
