To All Those Waiting to Crucify Lott

1. 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed with Republican support, almost filibustered by Leftists. Gore’s father was one of those who was vehemently against it yet they escape judgment on their actions. It was passed against their vote.

2. If the same type of things were said/written about Byrd... how would the Leftists react? Why are you... selectively choosing our "candidate"?

3. Congress has worked with Lott for decades, why haven't they been exposed to consistent racial characteristics by Lott in the past?

4. Why has Thurmond remained silent?

5. What effects do Welfare and education have on segregation and racism? Until recent years which party has implemented reform on each? How did Lott vote?

6. Anyone recall Kennedy's one way conversations with ML King? When does it come time to "cleanse" for that?

7. Which party is being "cleansed"? How many of you... truly don't believe Lexus searches were run throughout last week? How far back was too far back during the Clinton administration? As many in our who were victims, what did the Leftists gain? What does it say to you... about today?

8. If you... are going to allow the Leftists (who assert they are free of segregation and racism) to publicly assault our party without demanding they look in their own mirror, what have you... accomplished?

Blacks pissed about Lott's comments? Who's the segregationist?

So Trent Lott put his foot in his mouth and pissed off a lot of people. As I agree that he shouldn't have made those comments I am baffled that so many who segregate themselves are upset about things he believed years ago. The blacks have their own Black Entertainment Channel, a beauty pageant for just female blacks, a college fund for their race only and so on. Talk about segregation, jeez! Would whites be able to have a Caucasian Entertainment Channel? How’ bout Miss White America Pageant? I think NOT! I'm not saying I'd like to see those things, but it's the same old double standard for one race and these are things that continue to divide this country. Where's the white outrage over the black segregation going on in our country? I wouldn't think twice about the BET channel or the Miss Black America Pageant, but it's the very race that DOES segregate that is whining about someone who supported segregation over 40 years ago when a majority of southern folks thought that way. Double standards are rampant in this country and I’m quite tired of it.

I think looking at who would want him out would answer many questions. But since you are the research God, what's your answer to who might be behind his ouster?

Stop the hyperbole. Lott ain't no RINO!

His lifetime ACU rating is 93.

He may be a lousy leader, but he's a solid conservative.

It's Leftist, but I'm not certain they want him out. We get back to public perception of them next month when Lott is still there.

Our side just put him back in the drivers seat last week, they have no doubts about him nor have they publically criticized him. Those conservatives who are asking for his removal seem to be doing no more than covering their own butts.

America would be better off today if the 1948 (then) segregationist candidate Strom Thurmond of the Dixiecrat Party had won the WH.
December 2002

[Just getting ready for the next 6 months to 2 years of propaganda that we'll be hearing because the Lott was too stupid and lacked the leadership to think in front of a cameras at an old man's 100th B-day party]

"Asking for forgiveness is reasonable--everyone makes mistakes. But wanting to do so and remain leader is not. The controversy is no longer just about Trent Lott. It's about the Republican party. Despite what Democrats would like to suggest, this is not because most or even many Republicans are secretly nostalgic for segregation. They aren't. Rather, it's because Lott failed to deal swiftly and seriously with the substance of his original comment. And it's because Republican officeholders, however understandable their instinct for self-preservation, failed to speak out strongly against one of their own on a matter of principle.

"What's clear is this: The more Trent Lott speaks as the third-ranking Republican in America, the more his problem becomes the party's problem. "I want the Republican party not to be hurt by this," Lott said Friday. "I want us to find a way to reach out and to build on our mistakes that we have made in the past."

""I'm not about to resign for an accusation for something I'm not," Lott declared, responding to accusations that he is racist.

[Not Trent, nope. He can harken back to a 100% racist candidacy for an explicitly segregationist Dixiecrat Party that ran on 9 planks that were all about race all he wants as long as he a)doesn't actually believe it and b)doesn't push that agenda anymore.]

"Perhaps he would consider stepping down for something he has become: a burden for his party."

Just to remind everbody what we're in for and whom we are dealing with as our 'leader'.

Only if he had any political common sense and would see the greater good of puttig the team and the cause ahead of himself.

Hahahahaha! That'll be the day.

Lott will take this so far down the road that the stench from his rotting political corpse will never be removed from his Leadership suite.

That's a really good point.

Levin* honored Thurmond in the Senate, even complimented his run for president. Why aren’t we "getting ready for the 6 months to 2 years of propaganda that we'll be hearing...?

*Levin is a Leftist

I'm not and I'm not judging the Lott in the context of the Lefties. I'm judging his liability factor on the conservative agenda that he shot down the crapper with his dumbass comments and lack of leadership now and over the years. He has very few friends right of center in the GOP, fewer in the middle and who care to the left. That's his fault, again, 100%.

RIGHT ON REAGAN MAN!!!!
We do not have strong a CONSERVATIVE leader in the Senate, because the lily-livered Republican Senators don't want one. They love hiding behind Lott. I find my self in the strangest position. I too have been very critical of Lott's leadership. But now I see we have exactly what the Senators voted for. They love having Lott to blame for their own go-along-to-get-invited-to-the-INCROWD party spinelessness. This is a stupid charge and it is even more stupid for all you to jump on this bandwagon. I even found myself wondering if I will ever read Peggy Noonan quite as avidly or as frequently. A lot of people I admired and respected have dropped several notches in respect over this one. This is horrible example of political oportunism on the right. So many people who want to get rid of Lott jump in with both feet and all mouth. This would really matter if their had been ANY ripple of the pond scum on the left or if they had even blinked when Clinton awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Fulbright. After all that Medal was for his lifetime work, which defintely included his very racist past. But HEY why should any one on our side care about that. I think if was just a complete OVERREACTION.

Oh they definately want him out. If the Left could get Lott out of there, they might be thinking we won't have to change any offices and the present committees could stay as they are.

Many definately want him out.

The RATS have and they're to make sure that we all know about it.

I know, I know where you're coming from and I *do* appreciate your opinion.

What I see is an energized RAT that had nothing lately, after 11/5, but a victory in LA that really didn't mean *that* much. BUT, that being said, if significantly MORE blacks are motivated...

These never end and not only do you consistently do what you deny, you seem to be able to predict the future, always negative. I only browsed 300 posts, do you ever have positive things to say?

The other angle is that by leaving him in they can misdirect attention. The problem is, as I have mentioned before, if the Leftists have such a big hit here, where are the polls?

Yes, without reading the RAT press it is still predictable. I'm saying that if even a conservative can't honestly conclude that what he said in context of the sum of his recent and ancient past, then what does it matter if the lefties are howling about it.

If the Lott hadn't said it last week and if he didn't have a past that corroborates the worst you could take from his remarks, then it wouldn't be an issue.

That's what Joe Blow is going to see, over and over and over again.

And, for the record, the first post you put up was my illumination of a typo. Segregation. There, I got it right.

While not a fan of Trent Lott, I feel compelled to respond to the selective outrage regarding his comments at Strom Thurmond’s 100th birthday.

Is it too much to ask to have leaders we can be fans of, and not have to qualify our defense of him in such a way?

Wouldn't it be nice to not have to qualify your defense of our leaders with statements like that?

As I agree that he shouldn't have made those comments...

Can you envision a Majority Leader in the Senate that you wouldn't have to say that about?

It's as easy as calling the Republican Senators into a room and having a little vote.

Words mean things. We heard what he said. If he is too damned ignorant to choose his words more wisely than this, he has no place as a leader of our party. Besides, as has been noted above, he is a spineless, dishonorable appeaser. Fixing the Clinton trial sure has bought him a lot of love, hasn't it? Ha ha!

Why has Billy Bubba been sooooo quiet on this??? He's not afraid to speak up on this issue, is he???

Bubette has spoken up...she threw down the gauntlet...made it clear that the approach they are going to take is to make absolutely sure that Trent Lott is THE face of the GOP for the next two years.

Why in the world would Republicans want to allow that, when all we have to do is select another more credible individual to head up the Senate?
