Where in the Bible is the word Pergatory? Or the mention of any saint in Heaven praying for anyone on earth?

Being that today is Christmas, you think there is the slightest chance you can just let someone post a thread that does no harm to anyone and let it be? Go start your own thread and let this one be. At least for today.

Christmas is the time in which more souls are released from further suffering in purgatory than at any other time. Remember to mention them in your prayer petitions today. And once they are released, they will pray for you from Heaven

I'm sorry but when very specific controversial theology like this is posted, Christians have a duty to discern whether it is scriptually valid or not. Although there is no scripture basis for the concept of purgatory, it is accepted by Roman Catholic theology and tradition. But this very specific concept of more souls being released on Christmas day etc is getting far fetched and is not supported by scripture or any established Christian teaching that I'm aware of. So I respectfully challenge the scriptural validity of the statement posted.

Some people just don't care about anything. I do however, and I will pray for the poor souls like I always do including the souls of ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US but especially those of my dear mother and father whom I love and miss very much.
