INS and Border Patrol management evidently don't think of it as their job either. Those of us here in Cochise County who do go out scouting for illegals don't consider it a job either -- just a fun outdoor hobby.
Think of it as bird watching with a healthy dose of Neighborhood Watch thrown in. Spot 'em, phone in their location and watch the fun if or when the Border Patrol shows up.
If I had my way they'd be walking back to the border and retrieving their trash as they went.

Oh man, Bro, that's spooky. I was just thinkin' this morning about what it would take to get the illegals we round up to clean up after themselves.
What I'd really like to see is Isabel and Raul down here cleaning up the trash.
Do you remember the numbers from last year's 'community cleanup'?

The Democrats want no inquiries. The Republicans are afraid to ask.

I can't recall the numbers, but it did not include what many landowners had already hauled away.
However, I do know how many illegals the Border Patrol caught here in FY 2002 -- it was 156,950. Most of the field personnel insist they're only catching about 20% so that means another 600,000 made it past them. I have seen statements from the Tohono O'odham reservation and the Park Service rangers recently that the average illegal leaves 8 to 10 pounds of trash behind by the time he makes it to a ride pick-up point. That's potentially 6,000,000 pounds or 3,000 tons just for this one small county.

Janet Napolitano, John McCain,...
What's WITH the folks in Arizona?
Do they still think they're living in Michigan or something?

Please add me to the list!
Someone mentioned Nappy-tano of being a lesbian. That wouldn't surprise me with all of her support for gay rights. What is our state coming to?

Good Post, consider me a volunteer to help.
One main reason these gutless anti-American types are effective is they spin sympathy and photos into the issue, very convincing to a weak mind. How about we take some pictures and write some copy designed to balance the scales (poisoned dogs, trash, violated land, etc). Send this to the active politicians on our side and keep a CONTINUOUS effort going on this until we win.
My prayers go out to the land owners who are held hostage by this illegal assault on America.

"They [illegal immigrants] have civil rights and human rights that take precedence over defending the country." At least this jerk knows and admits what his priorities are.

"We are a government of law," said Pamela K. Sutherland, legal director of the Arizona Civil Liberties Union. I wish you would be more concerned about IMMIGRATION law instead of some make-believe right to come to this country illegally...

"It's not their job to defend, to harass people, stalk people, injure people. That's nobody's job," said Jennifer Allen, co-director of the Tucson-based organization. "They [illegal immigrants] have civil rights and human rights that take precedence over defending the country." Say WHAT??! You best check yo sheeat, chick... That doesn't translate well over to the Islamic terrorist situation...
What does anybody wanna bet that Allen and all the rest of these activist bimbos quoted above do NOT have property on the border and are NOT affected adversely in the least by illegal border crossing.
I say more power to the Civil Homeland Defense and all the other groups of U. S. citizens getting fed up with political inpotence and foolishness, and doing something about their own damn property. I tell you what, if/when I live down there you better believe I'll be out there patroling my own property at least...
