MRE = Meal Ready to Eat military rations. You can get them at surplus stores for about $4.00 ( at least that's what they used to cost) You can get a pack of chemical heaters for the entree too. You just add a little water, and the pack gets hot, stuff the entree in and presto, hot "food" They come in a tough little brown plastic bag and include desert, maybe some 20 year old apple sauce or such, some candy or gum, matches, drink mix, some tp and other little goodies. I kind of like them. Some are not bad at all and you never know what you will find inside. Kinda like adult Cracker Jacks but I think MREs last longer.

My daughter loves them

I agree with her. I used to take them with me when I was out working in the boondocks. They make great hot lunches.
