A Sharpton spokesperson told AP Friday that the civil rights activist "expects to file papers with the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 21" to set up an exploratory committee. A FEC records check on Friday showed that, in fact, Sharpton has not yet filed any FEC paperwork. Likewise, an IRS records review shows no documentation of Sharpton having any registered federal PAC or political committee. If these federal records are correct, then Rev. Sharpton must explain [Sharpton Committees] how he has been able to operate a 2004 Presidential site online at SharptonExplore2004.com for months now. The copyright notice -- dated last year -- identifies the site owner as the "Sharpton Explore 2004 Committee." Further, the Contribute page has already been soliciting money for the DC-based "Rev. Al Sharpton Presidential Exploratory Committee" ...

He is a minister, a reverend, and our First Amendment mandates a strict wall between Church and State (I read it there).
