Ana Marie Vaisanen said she could see passengers inside the Boeing 747 as it swept past her 12th-floor condominiumUnbelieveable.
747 captains usually know where they are.

China Air 747 took off from Anchorage using the TAXIWAY. Almost didn't make it. China Air said they would "take care of it themselves" There were tire marks on a snow berm at the end of the taxiway - which leads into Cook Inlet. Go in there and U R over with....
Wonder if they were too busy taking pictures?

Usually??? Yes, however the aircraft size has nothing to do with carelessness. Years ago, we nearly landed at the civilian field instead of Hickam AFB. Beautiful, bright sunny day. As it was we used all the overrun to get it stopped, much hell to pay.

Departing or arriving, within 500-1000 feet of the ground, every Asian crewmember I have ever flown with [While logging almost 30,000 Command Hours] turned into a cardboard cutout in a pilot costume!
As their accident rate demonstrates [And if you don't count Africans] they are Absolutely the world's most bloody awful "pilots." And China Airlines record is Asia's worst!
[Did you ever see an Asian "driving" a car???]
