[history]
Just in time for America's latest murderous war for oil, just in time to be reminded of exactly why our foreign policy is so horribly mangled and debilitating and Saudi enslaved and terrorist ready ...
Just in time to crush a few thousand smaller cars and kill a bunch of pedestrians and poison the environment and still be able to traverse six feet of standing floodwater in order to make it in time for Timmy's soccer game, it's the rollout of the new Hummer H2, the biggest joke of the entire SUV world, representing, well, just exactly everything that's wrong with America's view of the world.

At first, I thought this was a hilarious parody piece, but it's for real!
As reported in a superlative Washington Monthly article that quotes extensively from Bradsher's book, SUV owners tend to be, in part, more selfish, self-centered, narcissistic, insecure and vain than their car-driving brethren. Oh yes they do. And the research backs it up.
They are frequently "nervous about their marriages and uncomfortable about parenthood. They often lack confidence in their driving skills. Above all, they are apt to be self-centered and self-absorbed, with little interest in their neighbors and communities. They are more restless, more sybaritic and less social than most Americans are."
And if it was reported in the Washington Monthly, it must be true!

My wife and I have decided that in about a year when our car is paid off, we will look into getting one of the Hummer H2s. Personally I like the H1s better, but the H2s do have a sporty look to them.
People like this just make me laugh. This is exactly what the world needs: more comedy.

Covet not thy neighbors Hummer...covet not thy neighbors Hummer

This spew makes me want to run out and buy an H2! Unfortunately we just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Oh well, I'll just have to make do with the second best 4 wheel drive vehicle on earth!

Isn't there enough evidence of these land tanks' utter uselessness and danger and cultural detriment? How much proof do we need? And aren't we ready for some sort of momentous change?
Admittedly, I only skimmed the article, but why are you mean, brutish conservatives making this person by an H2?

Yes they're idiots.
But unlike the author of this rant they're happy idiots!

I've thought for a while that if I lived in America, that I would buy a Cadillac SUV. The Hummer sounds even better.
I would buy it for the comfort, the security in terms of bad weather driving, and the "in your face" statement it makes to whingeing lefties in their Volvos.

Anyone who feels that tinge of guilt about owning a Hummer, H2 or any SUV for that matter can pass them off to me. Please E-Mail me privately. I have no heat in my 9 year old mini-van and my babies are freezing. We will take your guilt away and be warm. (It is 14 degrees right now and my girls had to get in the car for the ride to school!).

As a big sedan driver and devotee, I'll take the sedan any day over an SUV. The drive like, well, trucks over the open road - I prefer a smoother ride.
To: Chancellor Palpatine
As the SUV has become an object of hatred and derision of the Left, my enjoyment of one would be that much greater. ;)

The liberal ones are.

If there were definitions in the dictionary for "class warfare" and "envy," the author of this pathetic little rant would finally get his or her picture in print.

Hummers get 12-15 miles per gallon. That's incredibly wasteful -- the exact opposite of what being a conservative is all about.
