* Daniel Pearl : Wall Street Journal reporter who was working on a story related to Richard Reid, the shoe bomber.
* Dr. Judeah Pearl : The father of he murdered WSJ reporter Danny Pearl.
* Fazal Karim : suspected of being a co-conspirator in the abduction of Danny Pearl; claims to have worked as a night watchman at a plant nursery where Pearl was evenually decapitated. Karim and other militants arrested this spring were members of Lashkar-e-Jangvi, a militant Sunni Muslim group accused of murdering scores of Shiite Muslim doctors, police officers and businessmen.
* Ahmed Omar Sheikh : a British-born terrorist who lured Wall Street Journal reporter Danny Pearl into a fatal trap. Sheikh was convicted in July 2002 in Pakistan and sentenced to death for Mr. Pearl's kidnapping and murder, but as of January 2003 his case is on appeal.

* Jaish-e-Muhammad aka Army of Muhammad : The group whose members planned the kidnapping of WSJ reporter Danny Pearl. Their leader was released from Pakistani government detention in December 2002
* Lashkar-e-Jangv : A militant Sunni Muslim group accused of murdering scores of Shiite Muslim doctors, police officers and businessmen. The leadership of Lashkar-e-Jangvi has been virtually destroyed in a series of arrests, shootings and an accidental explosion in a bomb-making factory, a Western official said.
* Al Qaeda : Involved in the conspiracy to kill WSJ reporter Danny Pearl.
* Al Rashid Trust : an organization the United States accuses of financing terrorist groups. It wasin a plant nursery near one of their religious schools that WSJ reporter Danny Pearl was murdered. The school's upper floors overlook the nursery and the hard line school remains open as of January 2003.
