Sorry I get a little defensive when it comes to talk of the liberal media. My husband is the one who wrote the story, and followed it from the beginning (in GA). He had to fight his editors on more than one occassion to get them to let him include facts in his articles. His paper was one of the leaders of the questioning of Sheriff Sills and his motives behind his drive to see this man in jail. My husband has had his life threatened (Including at home on our answering machine), been stalked by these people, been called a racist and asked where his white hood was, had his car keyed, couldn't take our kids out much because he didn't want them to be able to recognize out kids, we had to pull our son out of day care because he had a Nuwaubian teacher (they said they thought she was "nice" so it was ok with them although they had explicit instructions to inform us if any of the employees were Nuwaubians - guess they can finally see why) In short, our lives were turned upside down because of this, but my husband never quit, because he knew what was right and what was wrong, and this man was WRONG! He told me awhile back, People have to decide who they want to hang their hat on, and he picked Howard (sheriff) and his bosses picked the Nuwaubians, and he feels vindicated now that they see what the hell he's been telling them for years.

Anyhow, you are correct, there is no turn around in the media because of this one story. the same shysters will continue to do their song and dance, and people will continue to fall for it, but I for one am proud of our sheriff and proud of my husband, who knew what the perv did to those kids, and stood his ground.

Sometimes folks like editors and politicians would rather stick their fingers in their ears and run away shouting, "Don't tell us! Don't tell us! We don't want to know!"

That's how settling vat scum like this Nuwaubian leader prosper, because folks don't want to hear the inconvenient truth.

There's no doubt the sheriff and your husband were on the right side. You'll note that he had to fight tooth and nail to get his views published. The sheriff had to fight tooth and nail despit the media onslaught.

Look, you husband gets high marks from me. Until his ethic is the norm and people like him don't have to do end runs around editors, I'm still saying the media is seriously screwed up.

Your husband deserves an award. And some people deserve to see jail time over this.
