When he was governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Ridge signed the execution warrant for Muslim militant Mumia Abu-Jamal, whom a jury convicted of murdering Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981.

Mumia had shot the 25-year-old policeman once in the back and point-blank in the face. A handful of congressmen, as part of a yearslong campaign to ''Free Mumia,'' assailed Ridge.

I've been wondering - for a few decades - what would happen as the 60's and 70's radicals came to power. The answer is self-evident.

The more important question is: How do we deal with this problem in a lawful, and acceptable manner ?

Good point and question. My suggestion:

We have to start at home, with our kids. Discussing issues, pointing out the absurdities when we see it and standing up for what is right.

My wife and I raised two sons. The oldest is now on the USS Abraham Lincoln and is "READY NOW" (He is in the Y for those who saw the picture).

My other son is a freshman in college. Before he left, I gave him a bit of a speech about the liberalness of college professors and reminding him that the professors are not smarter then him, just more knowledgable on specific subjects. I advised him that he might have to often keep quiet, rather then voice his true feelings.His comment:

"Dad, I have been doing that for years."

This story isn't new, but has been ignored by the mainstream newsmedia. How do you ignore the story of powerful, elected members of the U.S. Congress aiding terrorists and obstructing the administration in the efforts to defend our nation?

Ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee is an apologist for enemies of America? Where's the N.Y. Times? Tom Brokaw?

Fringe politician that he is, Conyers is no backbencher. On his Website he calls himself ''a senior statesman in American political life.'' The 20-term representative from Detroit is the second-most-senior member of the House, and serves as the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee. This means he shares oversight of the Justice Department and FBI, and writes and amends antiterrorism laws. Nor is he alone as a prominent congressional friend of radicals and revolutionaries.

Time to clean house.

Serrano (D-NY) said, ''I don't know if it's a free country. I don't live there.'' Ultimately the congressman revealed his true belief. The Castro regime, he said, ''allows personal freedoms – absolutely.''

Yes, Congressmen, that is why Elian Gonzalez mother lost her life, while risking his, to get away from all the personal freedoms they have in Cuba.

If Republicans are so chicken-$hit as to allow terrorism supporters to hide in our Congress, then there's little hope for the future.

They should have the balls to call them all out and fight for their removal. No matter what the left thinks or says, they should stand up and do the right thing.

But, of course, it's all about getting re-elected, everything else comes in a distant second.

It's a damn shame that students often have to keep quiet instead of being able to freely speak their mind. Too bad we can't Ceaucescu these Pink Punks right now, instead of having to wait for them to die or retire.

I'd call that a heck of a good start !

I've been thinking : Since the lefties are so fond of all things Red, why not use ( the late, and unlamented ) Chairman Mao's Little Red Book... against them ?

Why not build up the political equivalent of a guerrilla movement : using all the little discontents and problems the voters they "represent" have been subjected to ? Why not begin running for local offices - below the radar of the state and national committees, and use that to establish a reputable political power base ?

The thing is : there is no law against leftists being what they are ; but we'd better start moving before they make it illegal to be what we are !

If the way the 60's radicals screamed and shouted down anyone who disagreed with them is any index of mindset, it won't be long until they try to force everyone to agree with them.

They did. His name was Joe McCarthy. Look what good it did us. 40 yrs of a democrat Congress and senate (Ok 36 there)

If we do not learn from our mistakes, we will be doomed to repeat them. An old adage? Yes, but also appropriate.

We cannot defeat the Democrats, and the media, until such time that their messages fall on deaf ears. We are making progress:

We have had the Presidency 15 of the last 25 years and we have had Congress since '94 (thank you Mr. Gingrich). We now have the Senate. I think we are going in the right direction, but I agree, too slowly.
