U.S. intelligence agencies say Osama bin Laden's oldest son, Sad, is in Iran along with other senior al Qaeda terrorists, as Iranian military forces have been placed on their highest state of alert in anticipation of a U.S. attack on Iraq, according to intelligence officials.

Sad bin Laden was spotted in Iran last month, according to officials familiar with intelligence reports. Sad is believed to be a key leader of the al Qaeda terrorist network since U.S. and allied forces ousted the ruling Taliban militia in Afghanistan.

This makes a certain amount of sense. It should be remembered that AQ wants a world-wide islamic caliphate. Iran is an islamic theocracy (like Afganistan was). I was really confused by the recent UBL tape with its blatent ties to Iraq, but, not it is coming clear.

Saddam is VERY secular. UBL sees that Saddam is ousted (Go US!) then the resulting chaos is prime for the positioning of key figures in the replacement government that could be swayed to the islamic cause.

I have thought for quite a while that Iran had been noticably quiet. It is a given that Iran is having internal problems. It would make sense that the mullahs would happily receive anyone that is sympathetic to their cause. Even if the wahabbi and shiia are somewhat in conflict, remember, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

Semper Fi!

Iran and its murdering mullahs are the mother land of the current hate America terrorism movement.

It all started when Jimmy Carter refused to do anything when they took over our embassy and did the Shah in. Of course Jimmy got paid well for this after he left office.

When we kill about 5 levels of the Murdering Mullahs of Iran, the good people in Iran will handle the rest like Mussolini and his facists were handled at the end of WWII!

When Iran and Iraq are no longer able to finance and control terrorism, Islamofacist terrorism will become a random event instead of a daily event.

What TASS used to refer to as the "correlation of forces" has become quite interesting lately.

The possibility that we are being set up in Iraq has occurred to me, although it still seems unlikely.

If you will remember, the CIA first caught President Carter's brother Billy recieving a $250,000 payment from Khadafy in Libya, however, as soon as that scandal broke - Jimmy's friends in Iran invaded our Tehran embassy and knocked Billy's scandal story completely out of the news.

To this day the public still hasn't been told why a Communist-Islamic in Libya paid the President's brother a Quarter of a Million bucks...

seems unlikely.

Since it would invite a strategic level response.

Please note that I wrote about Osama's presence in Iran right after Afghanistan fell, both on NRO and in "The War Against the Terror Masters." It has taken the intel guys a year to catch up...

>>Since it would invite a strategic level response.<<

I am uncertain, first of all that we would really nuke Teheran and kill millions of Persians in the process because Iran attacked a military target.

I am also uncertain that our enemies are averse to a "strategic response" in the same way the CPSU Politburo was.

Iran should be next...They have the most pro-American populace in the Arab world (hell, I'd say more ProAm than Fr&Ger)...

They have a weak military and a citizenry ready to cheer the liberators. Of course, GOVT wise they are the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.

?Who's next? Question answered.

So you are the Michael Ledeen that contributes to National Review? If so, that's great. I have appreciated your articles about Iran and its pro-US populace. I can not wait to see this dictatorship fall.

Thanks for reminding me of the timing of these two events:

If you will remember, the CIA first caught President Carter's brother Billy recieving a $250,000 payment from Khadafy in Libya, however, as soon as that scandal broke - Jimmy's friends in Iran invaded our Tehran embassy and knocked Billy's scandal story completely out of the news.

I like most Americans had forgot about Billy's $250,000 payment from Krazy Khadaffy. The takeover of our embassy smothered that story.

This reply of your is just more proof of how the Opecker Islamofacists have been buying out the rat politicians and their mediot friends for decades.

"Please note that I wrote about Osama's presence in Iran right after Afghanistan fell..."

I remember that. I've enjoyed and appreciated your reporting on Iran, especially since few other reporters seem interested.

Thank you.

that we would really nuke Teheran

No, but how about their reactors to start? I don't think the mullahs could hold off the people after that.

I think that when Iraq falls, Iran will be right behind them- only it will come from within. Iran is so ripe for revolution. The ruling Mullahs can't even control pro-USA demostrations.

If UBL’s son is in Iran and we know where he and his cohorts are, why are they still alive?

It’s a damn good thing I’m not president because if I was, I would slit the throats of every terrorist and their ENTIRE family. I firmly believe the only way to stop terrorism is to kill the terrorists and their family. Doing this Mafia style would definitely send a message.

Furthermore, I would post signs along both the Canadian and Mexican boarders that read in Spanish, Arabic and a few other languages, ANYONE CROSSING THIS BOARDER WILL BE SHOT. I would also have machine guns every so many feet that are remote controlled and shoot anyone who sneaking across our boarders. We wouldn’t have to have a bunch of boarder guards patrolling, just a few guys in a room with monitors and a joy stick with a trigger.

I would also do everything possible to fine every illegal alien, regardless of where they’re from and deport them immediately and tell these groups who defend them to STUFF it.

If I shocked a few people with this comment, so be it. I am an American and the only country I care about keeping safe is this one.

The people in Iran waiting to handle their own Islamofacists have a legitimate fear of Soddomite. So they will wait until he is out power or dead.

With 2 weeks after Soddomite is DOA or out of power, there will be massive rebellions in Iran. They will no longer fear being gassed or killed by Soddomite, and they will overthrown the vile mullahs in charge of Iran.

The current president's brother seems to have a lot of Communist-Islamic pals as well. From the Associated Press last April:

A decade after his ties to a failed savings and loan brought his family unwanted attention, Neil Bush is crisscrossing the globe promoting a company with a mission to transform the way children are taught.

The president's brother has raised at least $18 million in capital for his Ignite startup from investors from as far away as Egypt and Japan. Along the way, he has been entertained by a crown prince in the Middle East, wined, dined and serenaded by China's president and joined by top members of the Bush administration in meetings with educators in the United States.

Last month, he spoke at the Florida Educational Technology Conference, along with U.S. Education Secretary Rod Paige and top state education officials and industry executives. In Washington, he co-chaired a January education technology industry meeting on federal policy where the guest speakers included Paige and Phil Bond, the undersecretary of commerce for technology. Bush counts two of the president's former technology advisers, Peter Su and Robert Stearns, on his Ignite team.

Protected by Secret Service agents, Neil Bush travels an average of two or three days a week. He took a Red Sea vacation in March 2001 with Egyptian business magnate Hamza El Khouli, an Ignite investor. ``It's a good company, a sound company, an investor in education,'' El Khouli said.

Bush visited the Dubai crown prince, Gen. Shayk Muhammad Bin-Rashid Al Maktum, in the United Arab Emirates in October. Bush said he is not pursuing business opportunities there, although the prince has a program that installs computers in schools.

Chinese President Jiang Zemin threw a private dinner for Bush in Beijing in December, even serenading him at one point with a military song he learned as a youth, one of those present said. The meeting drew the attention of the South China Morning Post, which headlined its story: ``Private meal leaves Jiang feeling brotherly.''

Bush declined to discuss the visit but said he is interested in U.S.-China relations. His father was President Ford's envoy to China. ``If I had any meetings with top-level China officials, the word Ignite never came into any conversation,'' he said.

Bush occasionally dabbles in international affairs. Speaking at a Saudi Arabian economic forum in January, a venue where former President Clinton also spoke, Bush referred to growing anti-American sentiment in Arab countries and said the two peoples must communicate better.
