Yes, German execs, be afraid.
Be VERY afraid.

If one can afford a Porsche, maybe go the extra mile and buy a Ferrari. The Italians know who their friends are.

Can you say, "Subaru?" I knew you could.

They won't feel an immediate impact, for several reasons.
A majority of cars are leased. True for me, at this time.
And mine is German. And I am VERY SERIOUSLY considering boycotting German cars. But it is 20 months in the future.
For me, it is a big deal, for I love their hardware. But I may settle for American, British, Japanese or Swedish substitutes.
For me it is a SACRIFICE, because there aren't really any substitutes for German cars.

A german pick-up is a substitute for a German sportscar?

My husband drives a VW Passat, but his next vehicle will be a US-made truck.

If they are so concerned, perhaps they should work to get the Christian Democrats back into the majority so that they don't have to deal with any more foolishness from the Social Democrats and Greens.....

Said the BMW spokesman: "We've had perhaps a dozen e-mails or letters from customers saying, 'If Germany doesn't support the U.S., don't count on me to buy another BMW.' " I think a Freeper cut and paste email operation could increase that number a little.

After reading this I am sure going to boycott German products.Included on the Iraqi suppliers' lists are other German corporate names: Hoechst, Daimler-Benz, Siemens, Kloeckner, Carl Zeiss, Schott Glas, Karl Kolb-Pilot Plant and WTB (Walter Thosti Boswau). The WTB undertaking was supported by a credit guarantee for several hundred million German marks by Hermes, a German government export and credit insurer. Rhein-Bayern supplied Iraq with eight mobile toxicological labs housed in sand-colored, camouflage-painted Magirus trucks.

,,, leasing is something that occurs after market. Whether it's leased or owned, that aspect is irrelevant after the car hits US soil and has generated an export receipt isn't it? - even if the lessor is the manufacturer's finance company.
Also, another consideration for a firm like VW who are churning out Beetles for my market from Mexico, is that Mexico's labour force will suffer before Germany's does.
