The only disadvantage to excommunicating the UN from the USA, is that they will have nowhere else to go than the Secondary UN Headquarters in... Geneva.

Japan announced a few hours ago, that of their FOUR diplomats remaining in Iraq, TWO have immediately left for Amman, Jordan to get out of the country. It is thought the remaining TWO will be out very soon. (9:30 a.m. Eastern Time Friday).

Japan said they are closing down their diplomatic presence finally, as it appears war is imminent.

They left saying there are still a few Japanese nationals in the country, primarily "human shields" demonstrators, who did not leave when they had the chance, and after Japanese embassy personnel pleaded with them and ordered them.

Koizumi: Public at times wrong (The Asahi Shimbun) He rejects anti-war results of opinion polls. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said Wednesday that public opinion isn't always right and history provides many examples of when it was, in fact, wrong. ``If political decisions are made based on public opinion, mistakes may be made,'' Koizumi said. ``That has been demonstrated by history.'' He made his comments during questioning in the Upper House Budget Committee, which began deliberating the fiscal 2003 government budget proposal. After indicating his support for the United States and Britain and their new U.N. Security Council resolution against Iraq, he was asked about public opinion polls in Japan that show majorities opposed to military action against Iraq. ``When examining whether a government has been right after being influenced by public opinion, there are many instances from historical fact that show that is not the case,'' he said. ``When pressure has been applied, Iraq has reluctantly agreed to cooperate in areas where it had previously refused. Such factors must also be taken into consideration.'' Koizumi said the hard-line stance taken by the United States and Britain has produced results. ``Since the new resolution was submitted, Iraq has come out with new forms of cooperation even though it had said that it was already cooperating sufficiently,'' Koizumi said. ``That shows that the pressure is working.'' He also pointed out that while a peaceful resolution to the Iraqi crisis was desirable, Baghdad may have presumed too much regarding the reaction of the international community. ``At this time, we should send a clear message to Iraq that it no longer has any time,'' Koizumi said.
