SUPPORT THE TROOPS RALLY - Ventura, CA 3/16 & 3/23

I am planning on joining a small (so far) group of people at the Ventura County Government Center this Sunday (3/16) at 11:30am for a Support the Troops/Support the President rally. I hope that by 3/23 we can pull together enough area freepers to have a Rally for America rally at the same location/same time. Please let me know if you can lend your support for this Sunday and/or the following Sunday (and perhaps the following Sunday, and the next Sunday ...........)

Can we pull this together all you local freepers and lurkers? If we get organized A.S.A.P. we can start contacting local service groups, media, military groups, etc. and really make a difference. I was at a similar rally this past Saturday and we had a tremendously positive response from all the people that drove past.

Great! It will be at the Government Center in Ventura. Right now I am thinking either on the corner of Telephone and Victoria or Thille and Victoria. I'll freep-mail everyone later this week as to the exact corner. It starts at 11:30 but if you want we can meet a little earlier to compare signs, etc.

I'm also thinking about starting a local chapter. Any interest?

Sure! I've emailed all the locals I know about this webpage and hopefully they will sign up and join in!

Folks, here's one way to get active and help out our fellow FReepers. The Ventura County Star (a Scripps newspaper) is the local newspaper. The website for the Star is www.insidevc.com

If you go to the website, click on the "opinion" button on the top bar of the page (just below the VC logo). That will take you to the online opinion section. On the left side of the screen, you will find buttons that will allow you to send an e-mail letter to the paper. Go ahead and sound off! I told them I'd like to see as much coverage of the rally for the soldiers as they have on the rallies against the impending war.

Ventura County has a major military facility with the Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station and the west coast headquarters of the Sea-Bees! Even if you can't get out to the rally, support our troops with your computer and your opinion. As the Star says, "Opinion is news."

Thanks a million jeni. We are going to meet at the corner of Telephone and Victoria - right by the flag pole at 11:30. Maybe we can get there a little early to compare notes. Are you going to be there this Sunday or next Sunday or both?

I am going to try and do both. We have a Family Support Group meeting tonight with four Squadrons so I am going to make an announcement and see where it gets me.
