Boy do I feel silly. Thanks.

"Our country was founded by Deists and Christians. Who was it that said "America is great because she is good. When she ceases to be good, she will ceast to be great." De Tocqueville?"
So are you saying that Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists etc. need not apply in the U.S.? We need prayer in the schools but only Christian prayer?
BTW, my son and daughter pray in public school -- they just don't stand up in front of everybody and make a show of it. No one has stopped them from praying yet, even at a more public event like rally at the flagpole day.

"So are you saying that Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists etc. need not apply in the U.S.? We need prayer in the schools but only Christian prayer?" Yes, that is what I am saying. Either there is only one G-d or there is not.
"Wide is the road that leads to destruction, but narrow is the road to life and few there are that find it."

So Sauro, I suppose you'd have no problem with observing Other Religions, as well as Christianity is Schools?
How about Buddists, Hindi, Wicca, Muslim, etc.
To: Lord_Baltar
Yes I have a problem with that. As you would have seen had you bothered to read the thread.

Well Sauro, asside from your snide, uncalled for remark, which is very telling about you, BTW, I had been replying to your earlier diatribe.
As for your assertation that your Religion is the One and Only that should be observed, I dare say that it is mindsets like yours that are the very reason WHY there is no prayer observed in schools.
Either you observe them all, even the ones you disagree with, or you observe none.
To: sauropod
"Yes, that is what I am saying. Either there is only one G-d or there is not."
I'm afraid you'll never see the day of government-mandated Christian-only prayer in the schools. And as a Christian and an American, I'm glad you won't.

why feel silly? we all forget things once in a while . . .
To: Lord_Baltar
Question: is anything absoutely right or absolutely wrong? (I am serious about that question).
AFA me being "snide" in my reply to you, Hello Mr. Pot. I'm Mr. Kettle. You're black.
Nice try.

According to who? Either something is true or it is not.
You and I "discriminate" every day. I choose not to attend satanic rituals w/ Anton LeVay. So I am "discriminatory?"
Sorry, you will have to do better with your polemics than that.

What you can't do is mandate a prayer in a public school, or a public library, or any other tax-supported institution because the assumption that every student, or library patron, or whatever should pray is in itself discriminatory. Correction: What CONGRESS can't do is pass a law which in any way limits the free exercise of religion or which establishes a state religion (ala Church of England).
To: sauropod
Yes, you are being snide, condesending, and more than just a wee bit self righteous.
Other people have differing views about which God they observe. They believe just as strongly as you that they are correct in their beliefs.
Since I can tell by your attitude and your statements that you wouldn't want a Rabbi conducting the Prayers, Why would a Jewish Family want your Minister conducting prayers for their Children? Or a Buddist Family? Or a Wiccan Family.
The bottom line is that in this country each of those Religions and others carry EQUAL weight. Unless you are prepared to have each observed, then you aren't in any position to call for observance of yours.
To: sauropod
Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything. Prayer belongs in schools. Look at what has happened to them since it was taken out. So, would forcing Jewish kids to pray to Jesus Christ be just one part of your "forced conversion" program?

I do not think your argument is with me. Whom has rejected whom?
Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I will not back down from that.
