Please plan to attend and help us get the word out. The purpose of this rally is to support the U.S. Armed forces deployed around the world in defense of our nation. The organizers of this rally wish to express the following in a peaceful public demonstration/rally.



· We SUPPORT our U.S. Armed Forces in ANY actions that they are called on to perform.

· We SUPPORT our U.S. Armed Forces by expressing our gratitude and acknowledging the fact that they are risking their lives in our nations defense.

· We SUPPORT our U.S. Armed Forces by acknowledging the many sacrifices made by the FAMILIES of our servicemen and women.

· We SUPPORT our U.S. Armed Forces and recognize the sacrifices made by State and Local Government, as well as private businesses in our community, as a number of members of our Nations Guard and Reserve Forces are called to Active Federal Service.

I have a copy of the FreeRepublic press release regarding the Rally for America program that I have modified to reflect our rally time and location. Yesterday, I e-mailed and faxed a copy of the press release to a number of organizations and will do so today. If you would like me to e-mail you a copy for further distribution, send me FReepmail with your private e-mail.

We need to start addressing the media - do any of you want to be the point person? This will possibly involve some short radio interviews and press statements.

I will be bringing a table to the rally so we can collect names and e-mails from people that want to be involved. I will also be ordering some flags today for those that arrive and don't have any. Can we have a volunteer for the table?

Please check in with all your thoughts, comments and progress. It will trigger further ideas and we can get some momentum going!

Let's wake up Ventura County so they can smell the conservative, American loving coffee that exists in our community.

Bring a clipboard/notebook to collect names. A sign with freerepublic.com and brief description of its pupose. Do you have any C.D.'s with patriotic songs? I can bring a portable boombox.

Sign Suggestions:

Keep them light weight (foam board?) and don't use wooden posts unless they are sanded. Splinters and tired shoulders were a problem at the last rally.

Also, if the spirit moves you, make a couple of extra - because we had people spontaneously join us and they really appreciated being able to carry a sign. We can also prop them up along the sidewalk or on the benches.

Send in your suggestions - because I don't think any of us are rally experts!

Tommy and Kimberly of Tommy's Landscape in Camarillo has some huge banners they will let us borrow from their pro-troop rally last Saturday at the Harbor. They are also getting the word out to all the people they know.

Great! What kind of response have you guys been getting? Are we going to see some warm bodies?

It has been pretty postive. I think a lot of them will make it out next weekend. Last night I made an announcement at a Family Support Group meeting. They seemed excited about it and are spreading the word. I am also putting up flyers at Hueneme base.
