Gee. Banned already.
Who woulda thunk it?

It is precisely because of that phrase "under God" that Christians can in perfectly good conscience pledge their allegiance to the flag. The phrase "under God" affirms that our allegiance to God takes priority over our allegiance to our country and its flag. Remove this little phrase, and Christians would indeed have trouble with the flag pledge.

This is so funny the anti-war protester in La Habra tried to make the same point that we treat the flag as idol
The reply is god rules over all and we love our country because it respects that god rules over all

My daughter won a writing contest in the 6th grade (3 years ago) in Los Angeles county. 1600 kids entered and she won.
The title was "The flag is the symbol of freedom" The flag is a symbol, not an idol. You are a maroon.

My bible tells me in Colossians 3:5...Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
I could not find a pledge of allegience on that list.

Look at the keywords. Probably not so much an idiot as a chemically driven (drug addicted/induced) schizophrenic, (perhaps an early burn out.) This is someone beyond just bad thought process. This is someone with some messed up wiring and/or some synapses are not firing correctly. (Thats a clinical as I can get at 7:00 AM)
Be well.

Perhaps you forgot the "Under God" part of the pledge..
Under, below, beneath, inferior to.. Less than with regard to..
You know, "under" God.

I am Christian, but do not subscribe to the Jimmy Carter buffet style (I'll take a little of this, and a little of that...just what suits me) clap-trap that you do....YOU worship your LIBERAL ideology.
To: LalahLand
The banned poster LalahLand is not an idiot, even if he is a heretic. He simply follows the usual protestant method of assuming that the English translation of the Holy Scriptures he has at hand is an axiom system whose terms are defined in a standard English dictionary. Reasoning that way, a reasonable case can be made that the American flag is an idol (though it doesn't seem to be a graven image (eidolon) of anything in heaven or on earth, unless you count the stars).
Of course, as an Orthodox Christian, I know perfectly well that the Holy Scriptures must be approached differently, and that neither the flag, nor even the images of Presidents or Emperors on coinage, nor the Holy Icons are idols.
