I had to type this in because the SV Herald website only includes articles from its front page.

So if you're anti-open borders, you are a "cockroach"? Sounds like a "hate-speak" to me. Raul Grijalva is a left-wing Socialist/Communist who was formerly a member of the Board of Supervisors in Pima County, Arizona. He constantly fought development and promoted the usual left-wing causes, all at the expense of his hardworking (but apparently ignorant) Hispanic constituents, who are predominantly employed in construction. Now he is an affliction on the entire country.

"David Aguilar, chief of the Border Patrols Tucson Sector, sad that while the outcry over illegal immigration has peaked recently, the problem is actually coming under control."
Yeah right, this guy must be smoking weed.

I'm sure I will get flamed for this, but mining the border would solve the problem. Wire a 10 mile strip in from the border with claymores and other mines, and there would be no more problem. It worked for the East Germans.

To defend his assumption that border crossing have dropped by 70 percent, Aguilar pointed to a chart that showed drops in the number of apprehensions. Aguilar admitted he does not know what percentage of illegals are apprehended and how many avoid detection. Don't you just love it, outcome based border control.
I doubt that the number of crossings has decreased in Eastern Arizona. Everything I see indicates a noticable increase in the number of illegals entering in Western Arizona.
Good Job Spiff, I couldn't get away to freep Comrade Grijalva when he was here Friday, one of these days I will have the opportunity.

" If we dont stick to our guns and stop them at the border, we wont know what is coming into our country" Well, DUH!!!!!!
I think "guns" is the operative word here.

David Aguilar, chief of the Border Patrols Tucson Sector, sad that while the outcry over illegal immigration has peaked recently, the problem is actually coming under control. Allow me to interpret this piece of sleazy double-speak: "Under control" means that the process is producing the desired results and that influences that are undesireable to the controllers (angry citizens taking things into their own hands) are less likely to change the behavior of the process.
It does not mean less border incursion by illegals.

I got a response letter from McCain. I had asked him what he intended to do about the invasion in his state. The letter is not even worth posting here. It contained all the same ol' stuff, "we're gonna do this, and we're gonna do that", nothing of substance, same old stuff. He did mention that he realized that property was being destroyed by illegal aliens coming across the border, that was the only truth his letter contained in my opinion. His letter was a waste of postage.
