Look what the ANTI AMERICAN liberal Democrats (and one independent) are trying to do.

One big barf alert. Can anyone believe this garbage?!

What an absolute outrage that they would not support a generic motion to support the troops in the field posed for WAR.

Methinks they should be 'freeped'!

Though I may have bought this hook line and sinker, I loathe the Leesburg Today and don't believe a word they say. That publication has not an ounce of credibility, so I'm not inclined to believe that Jim Burton said that. He's better than that, and is smart enough to know better.

Having said that, if I do find that he DID say that, I'll do what I can to defeat him in the next election.

I live in Loudoun County and wonder why the motion was even introduced. What's the point?

Unfortunately for them (fortunately for us), it put their views in the public forum. Even those who disagree, who dispute the reasons for this war, should support the troops who'll be fighting in it. These people are asses.

Looks to me, wrotten local newspapers aside, the public record is that they would not take up a resolution on the Eve of War, for our troops. That disgusts me.

Gotta' get these jerks out of office, or otherwise embarrass them in the news and before the voters. Loudoun to me is kind of a conservative place still, at least Pro-American troops, regardless of party!!

What whimps. I swear I hate Liberal Democratism and anti-American self hatred.

Them and the Dixie Chicks.

We need to remember these people and give 'em payback when we have all the massive, victorious welcome home parades for our boys in the summer.

Pay them a visit! YOu can post your comments without the hassle of signing up (but do need name/email) Good site - lousy city supervisors.

Two supervisors, retired Air Force Col. James Burton (I-Mercer) and retired Army Lt. Col. Charles Harris (D-Broad Run), attacked the Bush administration’s race to war but didn’t ask for a resolution of board opposition to the war. Instead, they voted with a majority of colleagues to defer action on the resolution proposed by Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio (R Sterling) that expressed support for the U.S. military.

Want to be that these two jerks were installed in the military by clinton cronies and were retired when clinton slunk away in disgrace?

Unfortunately, there are still a few clinton plants in the armed forces - look for sabotage during this war by some high level ARMY & AIR FORCE officers.

Look to the Navy & Marine Corps to maintain our national security!

Jim Burton retired long before Clinton was in office. He was the one that 'exposed' the Bradley tank. I don't know a thing about Harris.

Not exactly. Every non-county race (legislative seat, US Senate, Us House, Gov, etc.) was won by the Republican candidate in Loudoun County (usually by large margins).

The problem is that a local issue (slow growth vs. property rights) has fractured the Loudoun Republican committee (party) into waring camps, allowing Democrats and RINOs to control the local board (with only one or two notable exceptions).

We'll be taking care of that this fall. :)

Not to worry, there's all sorts of Republican-friendly housing going up there. This'll be fixed in a few years.

I am moving there this summer..Well if they get the house done!

Don't tell me there is a heavily Liberal govt. there! I can't bear it!!

I may have to Freep Daschle at every chance.

Blue Springs...off Route 50...near 28.

I am sure I will get involved...I always do. I have to decide on official address however, I may still be a Floridian for tax purposes. I may have to vote from Florida address in order to homestead too.

“national debate on the war has been lacking”

I believe these are code words for not enough people have had their minds changed by our BS.

Well, the tax benefits of Florida are hard to ignore, and the national party will need every FL vote it can get (while VA will be fine).

The county govt should take care of itself if we can work together. As our taxes skyrocket, more and more people are willing to vite their natural bent rather than for simply "slow growth".
