Dixie Chicks CD’s to be CRUSHED at Pro-America Rally (Fresno, March 21)

Dixie Chicks CD’s to be CRUSHED at Pro-America Rally

Patriotic Americans from FreeRepublic.com web site have been demonstrating at Shaw and Blackstone in Fresno every Friday since the September 11 attack on America to show their support for the President and our Troops.

Recently, while on tour in Britain, the Dixie Chicks criticized President Bush, and though they have issued a pathetic attempt at an apology, patriotic Americans are still furious.

Therefore, this Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m., Shaw & Blackstone, in addition to their normal rally cries, the group will show its disdain for the Dixie Chicks by crushing their CD’s.

“We are outraged by the anti American statements made by the Dixie Chicks on foreign soil during a time of imminent war,” says Saundra Duffy, head of Fresno/Central Valley Chapter of FreeRepublic.com. “We are sick of ‘stars’ spouting anti American rhetoric thereby demoralizing our military personnel and offering aid and comfort to our enemies.”

FreeRepublic.com is an interactive conservative web site whose owner and founder is Fresno resident and Vietnam Veteran, Jim Robinson. Robinson will be in attendance, as always, at Friday’s pro America rally.

Visuals: Large banner, home made patriotic signs, megaphones, American flags.

#49...Well, historically, burning books has been a form of keeping citizens from public access to what is in the books....destroying public books, ie, libraries, etc.

It was taken out of the citizen's control to read these books of their own free will....by those who decided for the citizen what he or she could read ....or not read.

Destroying one's own collection of Dixie Chick CD's is a personal....PERSONAL...form of protest that any individual has a right to make.

I'm not going to a music store and confiscating their Dixie Chick music.....I'm just destroying my own as a form of protest.

Why don't you see this difference?

#52...Hey...they (Dixie Chicks) have the freedom to open their mouths and stick their big feet in.....

..WE have the freedom (in any legal manner we choose) to disagree with what they have said or done.

Oh, so you think it's the number of articles destroyed that counts! So if you held a public book burning and only burned a few books that you yourself owned, the media (and your conscience) would give you a pass because you hadn't torched any libraries, right?

The burning of any book as a public exposition is a symbolic act of silencing the writer's voice, and everyone understands it as such. That's the only meaning it conveys. And the only difference between that and smashing CDs is one of packaging.

From someone who advocates such behavior, I take that as a compliment.

I was disapointed, but a gig is a gig. If I were a musician, I would of played it. At the time we didn't know Clinton like we do now. I have to admit I had some strong, strong suspicians, though.

Re daschle chicks: LOL! I've been calling them the Dixie Chimps. I like yours better ! Maybe I'll call them the da$$hole chimps.

Natalie is finding out her expression of free speech can lead to Free Market consequences. Her audience vastly feels differently and she may have to find a new career. I would bet that most of them see through her 'apology' as being a not-so-veiled attempt to keep the $$$ coming in. I hope so, anyway . . .

Go look at Natalie's latest comments today on her web site. She continues to spew her attitude.

Read the guest book. Today her daddy, told her home town media that he is upset that our local stations are not playing her songs and he (being a band member) say they will remember this and make a note in their notebook.
So not only has she sold out to hollywood and Europe.
She is turning her back on our President and her own home town. He is blaming the media and not his daughter.

Ouch. That really hurt when Nat made that note in her little notebook, didn't it?

I heard the Dix Chix are off the billboard charts. Put that in your notebook, dear Natalie.

I hope she saved some of her dough from her former career because her next career may not be so lucrative. The way she's panicking, I'm thinking that maybe she thought her fortune and fame would last forever. Fortune and fame never last and she expedited the tanking of her career and her 2 band members.

MEANWHILE, in Las Vegas FV's mom met and I have pics of her with RICKY MARTIN, ZZ TOP AND MICHAEL JACKSON. They are putting on a show in Vegas right now called "American Showcase". Charlie Daniels is also in the American show but Mom didn't get her pic taken with him. I was surprised that Michael Jackson is participating in a patriotic show but he lives in Vegas - convenient, etc. and I think he needs some dough.

FREEPER FRIENDS: Let's not start bashing MJ. I was just pointing out that he was in a patriotic show. Remember that we are bashing the Dixie Chicks in here.

Why not trash blank CD's in the name of the Dixie Chicks and not add to their revenues?
