Seems to me it's their right to protest and the police's right to lock them up until the war is over. No problem...

Thanks for the heads up!! Guess I'll be taking the back way into work today. thanks again.
Freepers, keep up the good work. I'll be cube bound in a while and this is the only site where I can get the news first. Thanks to all.
God Bless and Protect our troops!

I'd like to see yellow paint dropped on the crowd. For some, it might feel like a badge of honor. But, if it permanently colors their hair, they'll be branded as cowards for weeks after the war is brought to a highly successful conclusion.

Anyone know a good way to clean blood off your bumper?

Just wanted to chime in. This morning on my morning commute, I saw a guy holding a HUGE American flag standing on one of the bridges over Hwy 75. This is where you would normally see protestors, but I guess he got there first. He was a big dude that it looked like most people wouldn't mess with! So its not all freaks out there!

The bridge is now clear but as I walked through Dupont Circle this morning, there were *lots* of police cars and a big TV camera and high-intensity TV lights.
No protestors, though.
They're moving about. Angelwood, let's keep our eyes on it, they may be in our neck of the woods today! BTW, I *love* Tgsltakoma's post with the big focus on family friendly as promised.

Henry David Thoreau spent time in jail. As far as I'm concerned, that's a key component of TRUE civil disobedience. If today's protestors can't handle being arrested, they can take their diapered bottoms and go home.

"So, Grampa, what did you do during GWII?"
"Well, son, lemme tell you about the time we were surrounded by the enemy after we captured a key bridge. It was overwhelming. We had no place to hide. It was either jump or be captured."
"Wow, gramps. It must have been awful."
"You'll never know, son. It pains me to even think about it. There we were. All hunkered down, huddled together expecting the worse. And then it happened."
"What, gramps? Tell me, tell me."
"The bahstids sprayed us with deadly chemicals. Lemme show you my back. See that clean spot under my left shoulder blade?"
"Oooh, that looks horrible, gramps. It looks like . . ."
"Yup! They hit us with the water cannons. It peeled off two inches of crud. But I was lucky. My buddy got the full blast. The last time I saw him he was laying in the road completely naked . . . beyond recognition . . . shivering like an earth worm under a water faucet. The horror!"
"How'd they treat you after they rounded you up?"
"Oh, not too bad. They sent us all to the city dump for re-hab until the war was over."

I believe these anti-war protesters are actually communist insurgents.
They are fighting a guerilla war againts the people of the United States and its economy. They are not using AK-47's but the effect on the daily lives of US citizens is disasterous. Henry Kissinger's famous definition of a guerilla: A guerilla seeks to control, not territory, but population.
Can't you see that is what is happening, when US citizens are denied their Constitutinal right to travel free and pursue their business interests by these people?
And if we do have a growing communist insurgency in this country and we do not recognized so that it can be quashed, we are indeed in deep trouble. So far, all of the economic harm(by blocking intersections and stopping commerce) done to the US since the war started has not been done by Al Queda terrorists, but by our own home bred communists.

It is well documented that over 85% of the money for these anti-American, treasonous acts is supplied initially by off-shore sources to their surrogates operating here in the U.S.
