CNN - Bad to interview families of soldiers leading charge
CNN

CNN is interviewing the wife of the Captain leading the charge across the desert on CNN. This could turn out bad. That's too far for me. If her husband hits a mine or takes a shell, are they going to then ask her for her reaction on the spot?

Was that an interview, or was that the email they read that was sent to them by the Army Captain?
If it was the email, I think that talking head just got converted.

Yes, the CommieNewsNetwork would stoop that low. And they wonder why their ratings are in the tank...

No e-mail, they go "Captain such and such is leading this charge, we have his wife on the phone right now" and then they proceeded to talk to her. They mentioned trying to connect her with him and she said something like "no, he's got responsibilities".

The husband should tell her to shut her trap while he is gone.

I doubt her husband or anybody else knew it would be televised like this, and she didn't sound too happy to be on the phone, CNN probably looked her up quickly. She mentioned she and the other wives were taping it to show their kids when they are older.
This is so surreal (the whole thing) to be watching this live.

I doubt they'd mess with lower ranking officers/enlisted. Just about all of the Battalion commanders and officers and above seemed to have been interviewed on the various stations. They'd probably rather go after a Colonel or General.
plus, reprisals here....I doubt it. We (Americans) are not as defenseless as the government is pretending that we are.

It's her choice to do the interview isnt it? I wouldn't and dont' think she should but...that's her choice I suppose.

yeah, i don't think so either, but you do agree that the possibility exists! saddam's sadistic son uday (who hopefully is dead) said, " the wives and mothers of the american soldiers will cry blood" and other threats that suggest they are fair game. typical hussein bluster? probably, but cnn which is normally chicken little (we can't fight in iraq because we'll make them bad bs) should be more prudent. had to use the ghwb word!!
