Ranch Rescue persecution(homeland insecurity)
Sage Cheney ^ | 3-18-03 | Sage Cheney(wife of David Cheney, RR N. AZ Coordinator)

Posted on 03/20/2003 9:44:38 PM PST by Stopislamnow

Here is what happened: 2 RR members stopped 2 illegals (man & wife) out of a group of 100 from crossing onto the property they were patrolling during the night of 3-18-03. They questioned the individuals and one had a work visa from El Salvador in his possession which meant he could have ridden the bus across the border and did not have to be where he was and thereby trespassing.

The area that the crossing occurred was a a point of one of the worst rattlesnake infestations in the area and that particular fencing between the borders of Mexico & the US is one of the hardest, absolute hardest to enter. In other words, these two individuals had to work exceedingly hard to cross where they did.

The detained individuals were fed, given fresh water and blankets to keep warm and then taken by van (belonging to a RR member) to the main gate of the ranch they'd trespassed on, and let go.

At NO TIME, from the time of the spotting, through the apprehension, the guarding and through the release, were the 2 RR members who are in jail, left alone with the 2 individuals bringing these charges against them. At all times, the 2 RR members were accompanied by Jack Foote, Nat'l Spokesman for RR and TX Coordinator, the French Journalist, the RR Videographer, and several other RR members. Even inside the van!

THE NEXT MORNING, AT A RESTAURANT IN TOWN, THE 2 RR MEMBERS WERE ARRESTED BY THE LOCAL SHERIFF!

It has been said that the 2 RR members were followed from the property they were protecting into town where the restaurant was located and apprehended there. They were not told their charges upon being arrested. Their charges were only just now handed down (late afternoon of 3-19-03).

They are charged with AGGRAVATED ASSAULT even though there were WITNESSES and THE EVENTS WERE FILMED BY A FRENCH JOURNALIST and a RR VIDEOGRAPHER that proves otherwise. The individuals claim they were assaulted by the 2 RR members. It is not clear at this time if the story varies from "ass-kicking" to "pistol whipping" but the official charge is that of AGGRAVATED ASSAULT.

By way of cell phone, Jack Foote, National Spokesman and RR TX Coordinator has asked us, the AZ Coordinators, to please get the word out.

Please contact all friendly media and any attorneys that would be willing to get these innocent men out of jail! Jack is trying to reach his law contact now, and a phone call was coming in when we ended our call. I will keep you posted with any further news. I'm at work trying to keep a low, calm, profile here.

PLEASE Contact the two arresting officials at:

Doyle Holdridge: 956-728-2200 (I believe)

or

Ero(a)smo Alarcon: 361-701-2895 (cell) 361-527-4140 (Office) 361-527-3710 (alternate office #)

In Vigilance,

***************

JAILED RR MEMBERS FOUND! JUST TO BRING YOU UP TO DATE ON THE VERY LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AS OF 9 PM MST, 3-19-03

The entire incident from the spotting of the trespassers, to the apprehension, through the guarding and the eventual release was caught on film by the French Journalist and the RR Videographer.

However, as we now know, the 2 RR Members were apprehended at a Dairy Queen the NEXT MORNING (after apparently being followed from the Rancher's property) so unfortunately, no one was along to document anything at that point.

I don't even know how it is that Jack was informed of the arrest. I do not know if Hank and Casey were allowed to make their ONE PHONE CALL and they made it to Jack or what. Maybe when the guys didn't come back from Dairy Queen, Jack or someone from RR went looking for them and the employees told him???????

RR OR has raised some VERY good points that I will attempt to find out and get back to you ASAP! He asks:

1. Does Jack have a photo of who arrested these guys?

2. Does Jack have a photo of Ranger Holdridge?

3. Was the ID of the arresting officers verified for authenticity before submission?

4. Do we have photos of the authentic Ranger Holdridge?

Meanwhile, the latest word from Jack is that Casey and Hank are being held in a San Antonio jail (4 hrs. away from the AO that RR was conducting.) Arraignment will be held tomorrow (no time given) and bail will be set at that time.

The saga has taken many twists and turns as first it was said that the TX Rangers had arrested the RR pair, then it was said that the Sheriff did the arresting but the final confirmation is that it was indeed the TX Rangers. The Sheriff, however, does still play into the scenario, as he accussed the rancher of the property hosting this mission, of stealing $3,000 dollars from the trespassers. The rancher got a lawyer today and filed a lawsuit against the Sheriff.

There is a RR contact in San Antonio who is going to be handling the bail, please be advised and get the word out that help may be needed to raise the bail for Casey and Hank. Casey is from RR CA and Hank is from RR LA

Ever Vigilant, Sage Cheney (wife of David Cheney, RR N. AZ Coordinator)

************ SITUATION WORSENING Just got off the phone with Jack Foote, Nat'l Spokesman for RR and TX Coordinator.

Bail set at $400,000 (Jack indicated it was combined total for both Hank & Casey but don't quote me on that)

Going to Grand Jury tomorrow (Fri. 3-21-03)

But even worse: Casey (mid 30's of RR CA) has pancreatic disorder and did not have his meds so he is not only in intense pain but bleeding from the mouth. Had to be transported from the jail to a hospital during the night.

Hank (mid 50's of RR LA) must take 2 different blood pressure meds daily and he didn't have them on him when arrested. RR was able to get the meds to him in San Antonio today.

Jack is considering asking if all charges would be dropped if the current RR mission is scrapped.

Faithfully, Sage (wife of David Cheney, RR N. AZ Coordinator)

*************** CORRECTION! It has been brought to my attention that WND (http://www.worldnetdaily.com) is reporting that the 2 RR members are being held in the Hogg County Jail - this is incorrect. Neither Hank nor Casey are there and they were NEVER there!

They were arrested by Texas Rangers, therefore they had the authority (unlike the local sheriff) to cross county lines and take them to San Antonio.

And as stated in previous post, Casey did not spend much time in the San Antonio jail either due to his worsening pancreatic condition without his medication and he had to transported to the hospital. As of this post, he is still hospitalized. Hank is doing somewhat better now that he has his 2 daily blood pressure medications.

********* In my humble opinion, I do NOT wish to "strike a deal" in order to get charges dropped against Casey and Hank. Not like they would be dropped anyway. I told David that if that is done, then RR might as well just totally disband because they will NEVER be able to have another mission again .... EVER!!!! The "authorities" will know they can cook up whatever they want and RR will cave in..simple as that!

To me, and again, this is just my humble opinion, if Jack even OFFERS this suggestion it will show a sign of weakness. Please don't consider me being harsh by saying this!

Jack just called here again and has confirmed that they are NOT visiting either Casey in the hospital or Hank in jail as all the RR members are fearful of being "snatched" as was the case with Hank & Casey. Therefore, we've now got a guy in the hospital with NO visitors wondering if all of the RR members back at camp have been hauled to jail and another guy in San Antonio with NO visitors wondering what the hell is going on too!

None of this sounds good to me!

Is anyone, now, beginning to get a whiff of what is down the road? Neither tinfoil, nor ridiculing tinfoil, will be of much help when all is said and done.

Funny how Ranch Rescue has been around for several years, then, when they (according to SOF mag, with photos and complete video tape) they bust a 300 pound load of DRUGS just a couple of months ago and now they are arrested as heavy handed thugs beating and stealing from the poor innocent less-than-fully-documented immigrant / future voters.

ALL this from the county that brings us Sheriff ERASMO...

"A southern Texas sheriff is warning the public that unidentified armed men dressed in military fatigues have been spotted on numerous occasions in his county near the border with Mexico."

"" For the "country's safety," Sheriff Erasmo Alarcon Jr., of Jim Hogg County, published a letter in a local newspaper to alert citizens of reports he has received for some years from ranchers who have spotted the unknown troops, equipped with "professional backpacks" and walking together in a military cadence. ""

Sheriff `RAS, (Barf Alert)

IMHO  Sheriff `Ras has a lot of motivation somewhere to get the Ranch Rescue volunteers "out of the way" even to the point of issuing press releases within the past week about something that has been going on in his back yard for YEARS.  Apparently, as soon as Ranch Rescue Volunteers showed up they immediately started getting results, and Sheriff `Ras isn't about to have any of that going on in HIS County!

Now magically, the Texas Rangers (!?!) arrive and just happen to be johnny-on-the-spot at a local burger joint to arrest  members of Ranch Rescue for doing what the local land owners have been begging the LEO`s to do for years.
STOP the illegal’s invasion of the united States!

It makes you wonder just WHAT is the motivational factors for a Sheriff in a Texas county that close to the Mexican border?

Back at `cha. this one stinks to high heaven, there is GONNA be a money trail here. I bet the folks in the area are going to break this one wide open as soon as they become aware of their "concerned and thoughtful" Sheriff busted the only real help they seem to be getting.

Surprisingly similar to the reaction of another upstaged sheriff, this one in AZ.

Sounds to me that the local sheriff is profiting from the "use" of these illegals OR is involved in a pay-off with the drug cartel to keep the RR members at bay. Unfortunately.....it seems to be a pattern with some of these small towns.

Yep, a big time money trail. Hell, I'd investigate and follow the Sheriff around for awhile. I bet he is dirty as Hell.

Surprisingly similar to the reaction of another upstaged sheriff, this one in AZ.

For Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada, the drug seizures were an unexpected twist to a situation he had been following because of its dangerous potential. Estrada's primary concern, since he learned of the Ranch Rescue operation, has been what might happen if members encountered typical border-crossers and tried to arrest them.

What might happen is the dopers just might get arrested!

What they did find still worries him.

I`m $ure $anta Cru$ County $heriff Tony E$trada is $o con$erned he i$ ju$t loo$ing $leep over the $ituation!

"The concern is that these individuals, as well-meaning as they may be, could cause a major problem down there," Estrada said. "They don't have the training or the authority to be intercepting loads down there. That's better suited for law enforcement."

Yup!  Local LEO's  are doing such a wonderful job, heck, only about two thirds of the illegals make it across the border and wind up in the u.S. as criminally illegal aliens.
