Anticipation can be debilitating. Also allows six more hours to cogitate on whether or not you should break out the white flags, dig a deeper hole, run wild in the desert or BOHICA.

ABC showed the picture of the guy hitting the Saddam poster with a shoe, and Peter snidely remarked, "Some celebrated, at least for the cameras". Then went to John Donvan, who said in Safraw(sp?) he saw little celebration and much hostility, people asking "why are you here, did you come to invade us? where is the food you promised? will you abandon us?" Complained that the area is not secure, because they went down a road and found a mine. I think he may be ticked that he got stuck with mopup duty away from the action. What a complete jerk.

The "worst" they could do would be to lure us into Baghdad and nuke the city (assuming they have a nuke). Don't know what you could possibly do to defeat such a measure.

I'd call them Enemy Combatants.

Terrorism implies targeting civilians and non-military assets. They may be filthy brigand scum, but they're not terrorists.

They haven't. You would think America's enemies would learn this can't break us. We've already lost more than a handful on 9-11.

You've got it. It's a security breach, but the one-note media is spinning it as a "terrorist attack".

"Two grenades - one or more terrorists penetrated and rolled grenades into tents."

If I recall there was a story about the sniper John Allen Mohammad when he was in Desert Storm might have thrown a grenade in a tent.

Lets hope we don't have another Mohammad type in with our Troops.

Two different camps (NJ and PA). They probably spread the camps out for security purposes (I hope) as well as organizational purposes.

If this was the failure of whoever was in charge of security, they need to read the book :

Sappers in the Wire

Then they should be forced to write letters home to those who were wounded or killed. We have a history of these types of things, people should be familiar with it.

"Too many of our men have already been killed."

Well, more will be killed in the coming days and weeks. Maybe you should go join the anti-war protest movement and stop this war.

Let us just hope that all survive...this little lesson will not be lost on the command structure top to bottom. Unfortunate that a weakness had to be found this way...but it's usually the way that they are found out.

KUWAIT CITY (AP)--A rear base camp of the 101st Airborne Division was attacked early Sunday with a grenade and small arms fire and there appear to be casualties, a U.S. military official said.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the incident occurred at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait near the Iraqi border.

The official did not identify the unit of the 101st that was in the camp but added that it had been in Kuwait for about one week.

Most of the division has entered southern Iraq.

Now on the story of the dad who blamed Bush for his kid's death. ABC has clearly been the most biased of the coverage, by far.

OK, I'm going back on topic, the Camp PA attack.

Attack Injures 10 U.S. Troops in Kuwait
Associated Press

KUWAIT CITY - The camp of the 101st Airborne Division in Kuwait was attacked early Sunday with grenades and small arms fire, wounding 10, including six seriously, U.S. military officials said.

"From our reports it appears that a terrorist penetrated Camp Pennsylvania, one or more terrorists threw two hand grenades into a tent," said George Heath, spokesman at Fort Campbell, home base of the 101st.

He said 10 people were wounded, six seriously.

The injured were rushed to a field hospital but military officials had no word on their conditions, Lt. Cmdr. Charles Owens said from Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar.

The attack, which included small arms fire, happened at a rear base camp of the 101st, near the Iraqi border, U.S. military officials said.

The military did not identify the unit of the 101st that was in the camp but said it had been in Kuwait for about one week.

Most of the division has entered southern Iraq.

The attack was the fourth against Americans in Kuwait since October. Kuwait was the main launching point for the thousands of ground forces who have entered Iraq.

Three Kuwaitis were arrested last month on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks on U.S. forces.

The men were described as Muslim extremists who followed the principles of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. The arrests followed several attacks against Americans in Kuwait.

On Jan. 21, Islamic extremists were blamed for killing a San Diego computer contractor and injuring another American close to Camp Doha, where U.S. forces are based.

A Kuwaiti policeman faces trial on charges of shooting and seriously wounding two U.S. soldiers on Nov. 21 after allegedly stopping their car on a highway.

In October, Muslim fundamentalists killed one U.S. Marine and injured another on a Kuwaiti island. Other Marines killed the gunmen, who were religious extremists.

Let's just say they don't want to mess around with us. The past day's attacks upon Baghdad by our air forces are just a taste compared to the Big Stuff we have in our arsenal if they're really stupid enough to do a Hiroshima on our troops.

*Check out post #53*

Check out this link on post #53. My husband, being an active duty COL has been concerned about the Defense Department contracting out so many duties now. He was worried that it would put the troops at risk. He was telling me about it a couple of days ago so I had him write it and I posted it on March 16th.

It could easily be the usual Islamonuts. Remember the last few terrorist attacks in Kuwait a couple of months ago?
