I know we all have problems with Geraldo, but he did a wonderful show from Afghanistan last night. Just brought tears to my eyes watching him with those troops.

I no longer have a problem with Geraldo. His show from Afghanistan last night was so uplifting and patriotic. He even included the prayer from the chaplain and boy am I glad. Our troops need it!

You know they must ask themselves what they got themselves into. I hope we just wipe the Republican Guard. If they want to survive they need to put their guns down and run.

Wolfie said something which was on the order of what the Iraqi people must feel that we are invading their country. Rummy looked extremely irked with him and got very loud. Told him Wolf! The people in Iraq live under a tyrant! The regime is over! Get it through your head! Wolf asked about a lot of things. Rummy said the missile which went into Iraq could have come from Iraq but still investigating. Later, it was noted that Rummy was truly sending Iraqi leaders a message OVER AND OVER in his words that they are OVER.

Nicked this tagline from SNL weeks ago. Would never, ever consider UBL or Steely Dan a sex toy.

I think it is great that the press is able to go with our troops. It is so interesting and definitely inspires a bit more respect for what our military does.

I love watching Rummy in action. Everytime I see or hear him cut some snooty reporter off at the knees, makes me glad he's my boss!

He is in an LAV25 armored car, not a Bradley. We Marines use Harriers and F-18s for CAS (Close Air Support) not A-10s. Marines spend a lot of time working on the coordination of support.

I just helpd with the "embedding" of a reporter that's gonna leave with a unit from here. It's amazing to see how their whole attitude changes from when they start their training to when they finish. Quite refreshing actually.

Yeah the LAV and the bradley do share the same 25mm Bushmaster chain gun though. One thing you gotta respect about Marine aviators, they spend time in the mud like the infantry at some point in their careers. Makes the bond between the pilots and the ground pounders that much tighter.

Its the hydralics that move the turrets.

The sound is similar to the sound of the auxiliary hydraulic pump on the C-130, which controls the loading ramp and cargo door on the back of the aircraft.

I am actually in favor of embedding them. At first I thought it was stupid - but I now, everytime I hear fear and awe in their voices, I know there that they will be CHANGING the journalism world for the good, because they will know FIRST HAND what our brave troops do, and the babarism of our enemies. I doubt they will return to their old hate American ways.

Embedding the media into this conflict was an absolutely brilliant decision by our administration.

Even though, technically I'm in the media (Army Broadcasting), personally I can't stand the way these uppity reporters act. I had to deal with them in Somalia and 99% of them I thought were not only stealing paychecks from their employers but taking oxygen from those of us who needed it more than they did. IMHO! I have all the respect in the world for the reporters who had the stones to put their @ss on the line with the troops. The only thing I pray is that they don't do anything dumb that causes the military any casulties.

I agree 100%

ITN (British TV) is confirming that their "embedded" reporter Terry Lloyd was killed yesterday. Their families and loved ones deserve our prayers just as much as the soldiers who've lost their lives. For like our military, they too knew the risk involved and went willingly into harms way as well.

I told my brother I was surprised how the reporters were staying calm during the action shots. He said "They haven't been in the real action yet."

The FNC reporter is beginning to find out what real combat is from what I've read on here. It's not all sweetness and light. And you can hear it in his voice.

The embedded reporters who are real people and not left wing fanatics ...

Agree but not all embedded reporters are young, open-minded Fox News reporters.

Ted Koppel is embedded and was defending showing the dead Americans.

I almost vomited when I heard this. Ted is an idiot. There is a difference in reporter or photographer simply reporting or photographing reality. It is another thing when the official of a government parades POWs or worse shows off dead enemies as if they are a trophy buck.

Everyone go look at the front page of the Drudge Report website, then say a prayer for the families of those troops. PLEASE!

Actually, the dead ITN reporter was not an "embedded" reporter at all, but was one of a "free-range" variety who unfortunately found out with his crew that life without some protection provided by the Allied Armed forces is very dangerous.
