I do not condone his behavior in any way shape or form but will be interesting to compare his actions and the penalty compared to the anti war freaks who assualt our police officers and block traffic etc.

While the trucker shouldn't have done it, why didn't the protesters "try Peace" at the truck, instead of running?

(The truck) stopped about 10 feet from the nearest protesterSo no one was hurt. *sigh* I understand this driver's frustration, but we have to refrain from assaulting these anti-U.S. morons, difficult though it may be.

"One person was in a wheelchair, so he really had to scatter." doesn't sound these lovers of life bothered to help this guy
To: joesnuffy
I think we should send in inspectors to see if this guy was really violating any laws. And if that doesn't stop him, send in more inspectors for a longer period of time.

The Trucker should ask for a trial by jury.
In California a few years ago, a young girl was mauled by a neighbor's "ego" dog. Her father waited at her bedside for two days and nights, then received word that his daughter would live, but would need a lot of surgery.
The father went out of the hospital, found the dog, and beat it with a baseball bat; it had to be destroyed. Charges were filed against him and a complaint was filed by the pets owner.
During arraignment the father of the mauled girl made one statement: he wanted a trial by jury.
The judge dismissed the charges. There was no way any jury, even of Clintonistas, would have convicted him.
The trucker has the same ability....he should make use of it.

Selectman accused of using vehicle to bump war protester By Associated Press, 3/25/2003 07:54
DAMARISCOTTA, Maine (AP) A Damariscotta selectman accused of bumping anti-war protesters with his vehicle was charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, authorities said.
The incident happened Sunday on the bridge between Damariscotta and Newcastle, where a group of demonstrators gathered.
Selectman Walter Hilton bumped into two of the protesters after a verbal confrontation, authorities said. No one was hurt.
Hilton, who acknowledged bumping the pair, said it was an accident and that the protesters deliberately got in his way.

While I don't condone his actions, I wonder if a good lawyer can get him off claiming sleep deprivation due to his heightened anxiety over the Iraqi war with all its repercussions upon our domestic state of our nation. Well, the twinkie defense worked in the 70's!

Good lord, I have never seen so many deleted comments in one thread!
I know what my thoughts are, and for obvious reasons I will not post them in a public forum.
But go ahead and delete it anyway. At least then, people can say, "Oooh! Houmatt's comments got deleted, too! I wonder what he said?"

I hope that law enforcement will be as diligent in charging those "peace-lovers" when they start beating people. And, they will be beating people.
To: joesnuffy
I'll beat you to it.
