Nice of them to so stupidly sortie out of Basra like that. If they had stayed in place we would have had to dig them out. But - it might be because there is a report that Saddam has replaced a bunch of his military commanders with Fedayeen and had those commanders shot. Nice to have some stupid, untrained thugs in charge of their units. Makes it easier for us.

Shame on me...but I want at least a few "reduced-scale Highway Of Death" photos or videos.
I expect at least some decent footage for my tax dollars!

But hey, they just said on the news that we couldn't hit the column because of the sandstorm?
Ha ha ha, silly reporters.
As soon as I heard about this column, images of the "highway of death" danced in my head. Knew it was only a matter of time.
It's fun being right.

Iraqi Column Near Basra
Largely Destroyed-UK Official
Did we actually let some get away?! How would that happen, hiding in the jungle, mountains?
To: Mister Magoo
Most of the column was destroyed? Not ALL of it? Ye gods, you know what THAT means, don't you? Things aren't going as planned! We've suffered a serious setback! The war will take months, not weeks! Maybe even years, not months! What ever shall we do???
I am saddened, saddened, as well as deeply concerned, that we didn't destroy every single vehicle in the convoy. The few vehicles that weren't destroyed may very well indeed tilt the balance of the war even more against us than it already is and prove to be the utter downfall of the human race.

Who knows what to believe?
What about the first day of the war when the 51st had supposedly surrendered?
This war is beginning to scare me.

From MOD press briefing live on Sky News in reference to the break out of the Iraqi tanks at Basra:
19 Iraqi T-55 tanks destroyed by a combination of anti-tank guided weapons, artillery and air strikes. UK Challenger tanks destroyed a total of 14 T-55s in addition to the earlier 19.

Retreat? Counteroffensive? Who cares, it's dead now. So sad, too bad.
To: Mister Magoo
U.S.-led forces have destroyed much of a column of Iraqi tanks and armored personnel carriers trying to leave the southern city of Basra
Well,I bet they'll feel a bit more safe when they kill all of them,so, c'mon why not kill all of them?Or are they just saying this because we wiped them out and don't want to sound too harsh for the Leftist Doves?Ahhh, that's probably closer to the truth.
