SARS HAS BEEN AROUND FOREVER. DOCTORS THROW MOST RESPITORY ILLNESSES INTO THAT CATEGORY.

Yes, I am aware of this.

THIS IS ONLY NEW BECAUSE IT'S CAUSING DEATHS.

Since this "new" type of SARS seems to be causing deaths (including health care workers/doctors) I do belive they should be very concerned. BTW, I think the respiratory illness you are refering to are of the influenza type. With which we have a rash of sickness/deaths every year. However those deaths are usually limited to the very young or elderly. From what I understand these people have developed a fairly rare type of pneumonia(sp?) that is resistant to normal treatments.

At this time, there is not a cure, a shot, a magic bullet, or a cocktail. Your body has to fight it off.

First, get a tall glass of water. Then get a raw clove of garlic. Chew and drink.
Chew and drink.
Chew and drink.
Chew and drink.
Chew and drink.

If it's a coronavirus, would it make any sense to infect people with the coronavirus that causes colds? Would that provide any resistance to this new disease?

These things are pretty specific. the last thing I read argued that you can only get the same cold virus once.

This is starting to get bad. I hope they find a cure soon and my prayers are with those who are sick.

Does garlic really ward off diseases? Or does it just ward off the people who carry disease?

I wasn't thinking that it would prevent you from catching the disease, but that it might make the disease less severe.

One would have to use a coronavirus that would cross immunize against the pathogen. Isolation of the proteins in the protein coat, the viral enzymes or the nucleic acid would be necessary for a specific vaccine which right now is too soon. Coronaviruses are ubiquitous and one may not offer protection against the other.

It's not very contagious, they say. Yet hospital workers who are trained to be careful about these things, seem to be getting it.

We shouldn't be alarmed, although a global warning has been issued. There's no vaccine. Nor is there any effective treatment, except to take steps to try to prevent the symptoms from killing you. And it seems to be spreading in spite of our efforts.

It's apparently coming to a town near you.

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain...
We can be like they are
Come on baby... don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand... don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly... don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...

Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...
Romeo and Juliet
Forty thousand men and women everyday...
Like Romeo and Juliet
Forty thousand men and women everyday...
Redefine happiness
Another forty thousand coming everyday...
We can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand... don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly... don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...
saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye...
she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...
she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

San FRancisco should ban all anti-war rallies in order to "protect the people". Too bad . . . ha!

Both are good results. I used to dismiss claims of garlic use until I had a cold I couldn't kick. So I tried it, and was amazed at how well it worked.
