As a Border Patrol Agent I don't know that the border is any more secure than it was in the past. We have gotten more assets to help us patrol the border that have helped a great deal. We have developed new strategies for patrolling the border as well, and they have been extremely effective. For example, my Sector created a new Anti Smuggling Unit. Four agents by themselves caught well over 2,000 illegals and prosecuted 140 smugglers out 194 cases in just one year. If any of you know anything about the 9th Circuit Court and the USA's office in San Diego, you know what a feat it is to prosecute anybody. Despite all the new gadgets, strategies and new agents, we still operate under an umbrella of political correctness. Everything that is accomplished with the use of better assets can be offset by the fact that the smugglers and aliens can take advantage of our risk averse policies such our no highspeed pursuit policy.

All these "feel good" initiavies will do nothing untill we put the Great Wall of China on our borders.

Yes. We need a giant electrified wall that stretches along our borders....and also wraps around San Francisco. No one ever gets out. When you discover cancer you isolate it.

Well if your going to do that, you may as well hang the fence around almost every city. No, even though most of the protesters are idiots, and socialist, etc, they are at least *our* idiots, here legally, that have the right to act like idiots.....

We are talking illegal aliens here, People that do not have *any* right to be here, with some in their ranks carrying agendas of death for you and me.

Can you possible imagine the uprising if more overt action along the borders were used?

That is perhaps the most ignorantly defeatist thing I have ever seen on FreeRepublic. 80% of the people in this nation are demanding better border control, including a majority contingent of those of Mexican descent. Tancredo was re-elected by an overwhelming majority.

With the current rate of invasion, the Slave Party will make sure those people never get off the bottom rung of the ladder unless they pay the appropriate fealty. We'll never outpander the Slave Party. Drop that Carl Rove whizdumb before he destroys the conservative base of the Republican Party forever.

Complete horsesh_t.

Get this months issue of Soldier of Fortune Magazine and read the article titled:

Holding The Line With Ranch Rescue
by Rob Krott
America’s southwestern border is little more than a volatile sieve. If local law enforcement won’t even attempt the shut-down of illegal drugs and criminal aliens private-sector teams might be the solution

Pardon for the ignorance oh englightened one, one battle at a time. Think you must read again, OVERT ACTION - was speaking to placing military there.

Did not say one word about being against stronger border control, rather pointed out reaction if we militarized the border.

Not being a defeatist, rather looking at reality, and since Fox has turned out to be like a Putin, Fox is not getting what he wanted.

Things have a way of working out without automatically firing shots.

The large number of hispanic population already voting and little cry from them about how the liberals are treating a nomination of hispanic judge.

This should be telling you something about how divided the hispanic vote already is. There are far more liberals hispanics in Congress.

You apparently don't know that the battle in this country is about the "LEFT" regaining their control and whatever they can do to do that they will.

I don't place my faith in men.

Are you kidding me? I was fishing in the Canadian side of the boundary waters this past summer and accidentally ended up fishing in Minnesota . (Didn't even realize it until I was looking at some maps back at the camp.) No one came to bother me, no one from the INS, no park ranger, no game warden, etc...

Oh yeah, they're sealed up REALLY well.

Still waiting to see one thing disputed in this article.
An INS employee says it's legit, but the rest is all attacking and whining.

Pardon for the ignorance oh englightened one, one battle at a time. Think you must read again, OVERT ACTION - was speaking to placing military there.

Defensive sarcasm duly noted. Are you suggesting that the United States is incapable of securing it's borders while conducting action afield? That's akin to suggesting that an army should ignore its flank.

Did not say one word about being against stronger border control, rather pointed out reaction if we militarized the border.

The border is already militarized, with MEXICAN troops that have been firing on US Border Patrol personnel, if you hadn't noticed. Further, it's well documented that there are large numbers of Arabs crossing that border for a price, so perhaps the situation is a bit more immediate than you realize. If the President took action citing infiltration by enemy combatants as a cause he would be entirely justified thus defusing the predictable reaction. I don't suspect you have ever been to Sierra Vista or Yuma. It's nasty down there.

Not being a defeatist, rather looking at reality, and since Fox has turned out to be like a Putin, Fox is not getting what he wanted.

Realistic? Oh, that's the word people use when they have no other supporting rationale for chickening out. Fox is getting plenty. He just wants more. So do his Chinese friends. So do a whole raft of NAFTA-happy American investors who'll get you to pony up the cash, again, when their Mexican loans go sour, again.

Things have a way of working out without automatically firing shots.

Wow, such realism. Seeing as "things" haven't "worked out" for thirty years and are still getting worse, how do you justify that conclusion as "realistic"?

The large number of hispanic population already voting and little cry from them about how the liberals are treating a nomination of hispanic judge.

That's not even a sentence, but your comment does more to illustrate how little support Bush should expect from hispanics (which is why he should fire Carl Rove). Then why allow more illegals who, because of their economic status, are sure to vote for Slave Party candidates at the first opportunity, legal or otherwise? If they don't care about Estrada and will vote Democratic, why should Bush care how they howl if he closes the border?

This should be telling you something about how divided the hispanic vote already is. There are far more liberals hispanics in Congress.

As if I didn't know. Unlike you (apparently) I have been to the border and spoken to front line people only last summer. I repeat: Why allow more illegals who, because of their economic status, are sure to vote for Slave Party candidates at the first opportunity, legal or otherwise? Why should Bush care how they howl?

Oh, yeah, TOTAL chaos.

If you are suggesting that we shouldn't do whatever it takes to control the border (and it WILL take the military or its equivalent to do it) because you are expecting riots in response to such action, then you have proven my accusation of your defeatism and cowardice.

Consider that at the current rate of intrusion by illegals, WE WILL VERY SOON BE GETTING TOTAL CHAOS ANYWAY (as intended I might add). So why shouldn't we take action before the numbers get worse and our situation becomes even more desperate? Consider that many of those who have the most to lose in such an uprising live near the border. They are the most committed to taking such action. They know what the stakes are and you shouldn't pretend any different. Might I suggest you spend a little time on Col. Ben Anderson's website.

You apparently don't know that the battle in this country is about the "LEFT" regaining their control and whatever they can do to do that they will.

Oh really? I grew up in San Francisco and now live in Santa Cruz County, the birthplace of the Agenda21 and one of the most leftist dominated counties in the United States. I have spent years documenting leftist racketeering using environmental law and published a book on the topic. What do you have to tell me about leftists?

You apparently fear them too much to stand and fight.

I don't place my faith in men.

Neither do I, but that doesn't mean I fall on the floor in fetal position either.

It is time for the American people to prepare ourselves against a possible invasion from the south.

Are you all tired of being lied to? I sure am.

With all due respect to the gentleman, we are still not inspecting more than one or two percent of import containers and trucks coming into this nation. Does that sound like a fix?

We still have over a million illegals coming across our southern border each year. None of them are vetted upon entry. Does that sound like a fix?

We are still allowing middle-easterners from terrorist states to enter our nation. Does that sound like it's fixed?

Sorry, until they get serious I'm going to be seriously upset about it.
