FBI forms first Arab advisory committee (w/James Zogby)

WASHINGTON, March 28 (UPI) -- The FBI on Friday announced the creation of an Arab-American advisory committee to improve relations with the Arab community. The bureau said prominent Arab activist Dr. James Zogby has been appointed a member of this committee.

The committee will serve as an integral link between the Arab-American community and the FBI's Washington Field Office and will work to improve relations between Arab-Americans and the agency. It will meet once a month.

The Arab-American Advisory Committee is the first of its kind in the United States.

Committee members will be responsible for bringing the community's concerns to the FBI's attention and collaborating to find solutions.

The committee will also circulate necessary information from the FBI to the Arab community regarding new policies and available resources. The Washington metro area is home to a sizable Arab-American community with an estimated population of more than 70,000.

"The formalization of this relationship through the creation of the FBI advisory committee will ensure timely cooperation and communication. This committee is a model for constructive relations that we hope other FBI field offices will emulate," Zogby said.

The creation of the Arab-American Advisory Committee follows an increase of 1700 percent in reported hate and bias crimes against Arabs, Muslims and those perceived to be Arab or Muslim since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, says a statement issued by the Arab American Institute, a Washington-based Arab advocacy group.

"We at the FBI are committed to protecting the constitutional rights of every American. In these trying times for the Arab American community, the FBI will be vigorously investigating allegations of the deprivation of civil rights. We hope this committee will ensure the continuation of the ongoing dialogue formed out of a successful working relationship," said FBI Washington Assistant Director Van Harp.

"FBI officials and the Arab leadership are determined to maintain positive relations during these difficult times. We will continue to work with our local communities to ensure cooperation and create regional advisory committees," said Abdallah Al-Zuabi, AAI's national field organizer.

not to be indelicate, but it seems to me that this is just backwards: that the arab community ought to be trying to figure out ways to get along better with us.

See my post on Belgium, Islam and the Boomerang of Multiculturalism

Islam and multicultalism is the trojan horse of the left. Read this article and observe the correlations to actions of the Muslim advocates in the US.

True. And putting Zogby on the board with his obsession with Palestinianizing any issue is a very bad step.

Yet the State Department still privileges the Islamist CAIR as the representative of muslims in this country, so go figure. Must be something to do with Saudi money. Note that the name "CAIR" carefully distinguishes Islamists from being Americans. It's the Council of American Islamic Relations. This is no accident. Compare Zogby's group, the "Arab-American Anti-Defamation League." That title implies that Arabs are Americans, not counterposed and needing a "council" to mediate "relations."

"FBI on Friday announced the creation of an Arab-American advisory committee to improve relations with the Arab community." Why? Arabs have the majority of the middle east. They should start their own committee to be getting along with people within the country they inhabit. FBI has got it backwards.

Damn this country don't need an Advisory Committee's advice how to mollycoddle these islams, it needs another Senator McCarthy to weed 'em out.

WASHINGTON, March 28 (UPI) -- The FBI on Friday announced the creation of an Arab-American advisory committee to improve relations with the Arab
community. The bureau said prominent Arab activist Dr. James Zogby has been appointed a member of this committee.

"FBI officials and the Arab leadership are determined to maintain positive relations during these difficult times. We will continue to work with our local communities to
ensure cooperation and create regional advisory committees," said Abdallah Al-Zuabi, AAI's national field organizer.

These two paragraphs are quite troubling to me.  If Zogby is on this committee, this is nothing more than a rat infested gripe fest.  How will the FBI maintain positive relations with a group that stands against everything wholesome Americans stand for?  I've got news for the FBI, you can't keep positive relations with the likes of Dr. James Zogby, unless you're willing to accept his dangerous views as your own.

You don't change the views of a man like this Zogby.  You realize you will NEVER have positive relations with him.  You deport him.

I suggest the first meeting be held in Cairo.  Give the members one way tickets to attend.

Imagine a press release like this in the 1940's!!!!

Substitute. . .

The creation of the NAZI-American Advisory Committee follows an increase of 1700 percent in reported hate and bias crimes against Nazis, Bundists, Saboteurs and those perceived to be Nazis or Nazi Sympathisers since the December 7, 1941, terrorist attack, says a statement issued by the Reich Ministry of Propaganda, a Nazi advocacy group.

How did we get so lost as a country in the past sixty years?!?!?
