I need some help. If Canada wants to surrender to China because of this, do they have to get France's permission or do they have to wait for France to surrender first? Or do they have to go to the U.N. and get a resolution requesting permission to surrender?

While doctors insist there is still no reason to panic, patients aren't so convinced.Kinda crazy locking the place down then if you don't want to cause a panic. But they are Canadians, I guess.

Spread bad karma and get it back. Screw the ungrateful socialist Canadians and their support of Iraq and its evil. May Chretien and his cronies all perish from SARS.
Close the Northern borders, no man or machine shall pass.

Rather interesting that they are willing to prevent the spread of this disease in such an agressive manner but consider us out of line for wanting to prevent terrorists from entering our country in the same agressive manner.

"We have a chance to stop it in its tracks. That's why these unusual measures are being taken," One wonders why the Canadians can't seem to apply the same logic to the disease called Saddam.

Health Minister Anne McLellan said yesterday her officials are "very seriously" considering authorizing staff to start screening outbound passengers for flu-like symptomsThis seems a little ineffective really, when you consider the likely incubation period and that someone could be infected without displaying symptoms.
Still, better than nothing I suppose.

Every surgical mask available in Canada? That can't be very many...I think they ration them.

This reaction from Toronto is amazing. The darned flu comes from ASIA, a huge petri dish of unimaginable numbers of humanity, combined with incredibele amounts of filth and PIGS, which are the vessels which catch diseases from the local humans, and in whos bodies the diseases mutate into more and more virulent forms every year.
As a poster pointed out not long ago, where do you all think the viral plague or 1918 came from? It killed and incapacitated far more people than this manufactured Leigionaires-type 'crisis' has.
The germs are already OUT there, in play. We in the West deal with these Asian virii EVERY YEAR!! What do you all think your FLU SHOTS every year are developed from??? People need to get a grip.

SARS news.
To: Lucas1
What will be interesting to see is if there will be any SARS cases in Chicago within the next couple of weeks. The American College of Cardiology is holding its annual meeting there, which begins tomorrow and ends on Wednesday. Thousands of cardiologists from around the world will attend the meeting, which has been, historically, the largest cardiology meeting held every year. And, I'll be there all four days... cough... cough...

SARS my butt. They just visited Los Angeles and San Diego and discovered how much better job America does of giving health care to illegal immigrants than Mexico does to its own citizens, and decided to give it a try themselves.
