No sniffles here - of course, in a gratuitous "The Stand" reference, I can say I'm Vegas bound!

It's so much fun watching the news channels scramble to find even C-level reporters and "experts" to talk about this, since they've all completely abandoned their domestic coverage abilities (save for a couple of professional antiwar protest reporters) over the last month.

Do you have an updated list of "to do's" we've already done all those.
Btw, you forgot to put "get surgical masks" on your last list.

Someone pointed out a couple of days ago that pneumonia has a higher mortality rate than SARS.
Not to diminish the concern here, but I'd be willing to bet that a particularly nasty strain of the flu similar to the one that affected North America a couple of years ago is far more lethal than SARS. In fact, it sounds as if SARS is similar to the flu in terms of the symptoms.

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are
Come on baby... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby take my hand... Don't fear the Reaper
We'll be able to fly... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...
Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday... Like Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday... Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are
Come on baby... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby take my hand... Don't fear the Reaper
We'll be able to fly... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared
Saying don't be afraid
Come on baby... And she had no fear
And she ran to him... Then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye
She had become like they are
She had taken his hand
She had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

See 4. The more I read the more sure I am that its already been here, or at least part of it if it really is a multivirus thing. Ive read some additional articles which described other symptoms that I hadnt mentioned in my earlier post, and the fact that it seems to be followed by what seems to be a cold (that just wont go away) clinches it for me.

And I flew out of San Jose yesterday. I missed a multi-car pile-up on 101 South by scant minutes, and now this.

The govt does not want to stop airline flights to/from hong kong, china, or canada because it would cause a panic and it would further hurt airline's business which are already declaring bankruptcy.
No, we're gonna have to see much worse, e.g. 10000s infected and 1000s die before they even think about restricting flights, and by that timme it would be too late to contain it.
That plane wouldn't have been quarranteed if one of the four people hadn't requested medical assistance.
