What was that story all about last week, then, I wonder? "It's the flu, stupid?" This is a little weird.

Why are these people still able to fly without being tested before they board the plane? This is irresponsible putting the number of people on board in jeopardy.

It's too damned late to do anything, frankly. They should have leaned on China to cooperate or be cut off. And they should have stopped all travel to Hong Kong.
If two crew members on the plane came down with it, then far more than 200 passengers have been exposed. Incubation time is up to a week, or possibly up to 10 days. So these people have been flying on several flights, or have been traveling about in America, for at least a week.

It's so much fun watching the news channels scramble to find even C-level reporters and "experts" to talk about this, since they've all completely abandoned their domestic coverage abilities (save for a couple of professional antiwar protest reporters) over the last month.

And I flew out of San Jose yesterday. I missed a multi-car pile-up on 101 South by scant minutes, and now this.

If the period of incubation of SARS is at least 2 days, nobody who caught in on the flight could have started exhibiting symptoms yet.

Slightly off topic, but just barely....,
... last year my husband boarded a well known airline ....and a lady boarded who was already sick....throwing up sick....(and the stewardess knew it)
She allowed the lady to take a seat...(next to my husband)...where the woman continued to barf into whatever was available, until they landed.
My husband wanted to come home & burn his clothes.....

As someone who is flying to San Fran in the next few weeks, this is NOT what I want to hear. Of course, it doesn't help that I have almost constant respiratory problems due to allergies. Blah.
