Cell of hell ... filthy blanket and pillow lie on the floor of a tiny cell |
SHOCKED British troops yesterday found a torture chamber used by Saddam Husseins brutal thugs. The filthy cells of a police station contained: A MEAT HOOK attached to the ceiling.
THICK RUBBER HOSE on the floor with no tap to connect it to. And worst of all . . .
A LIVE CABLE attached to the mains and used for giving electric shocks.
The grim find came when men of 40 Commando Royal Marines captured the Basra suburb of Abu Al Khasib after 13 hours of fierce fighting.
The evil men who run the Iraqi regime had fled. But the evidence of their unspeakable cruelty remained.
A young Marine showed me a bundle of photo ID cards of men aged 20 to 50 he found in the bottom drawer of the chief of police.
It is illegal to go anywhere in Iraq without a card. So why, we wondered, did these men no longer need theirs?
Then a local man in his 30s approached the two-storey concrete police station.
Agonising ... electric cable and rubber tyres on floor of cell used for shock torture
|
He told us: The Baath Party were bad people. They used to hurt people inside the police station. You say bad words about Saddam, they take you in there and you never come out.
He also said the Mukhabarat, Saddams infamous internal security cops, used the building.
Down a corridor we found six cells. The damp, 8ft by 4ft holes had no light or furniture. One had a soiled pillow and filthy blanket on the floor.
All stank terribly and had spatters of dark liquid on the walls.
A larger cell had an iron bed frame in the middle of the floor.
And finally the Marines found the cell with a long electrical lead running from the mains.
The only other contents were two old car tyres. A Marine officer explained: Two tyres and an electric cable is something we came across a lot in Bosnia.
The interrogator would stand on them while prodding the captive with the live cable. His feet were insulated from the high voltage by the rubber. Its a recognised form of torture in a lot of countries.
Murdered? ... seized photo identity cards found in office at the police station near Basra |
The Marines also shot the lock off a door to find a huge stash of AK47 rifles, grenade launchers and ammo far more weaponry than normal police need.
On the way back to their base, the normally jovial and chatty commandos said little, each man alone with his thoughts.
Corporal Dominic Conway, 28, from Newcastle, said later: It was a horrible, gruesome place and I didnt like it one little bit.
They werent policemen in there, not as we understand the term. They werent even animals, animals arent that cruel.
Im just sorry they didnt hang around to meet us.

Have no doubts that our cause is just; the discover of this cell was originally reported in the Scotsman, FYI.

Have no doubts that our cause is justI wonder what Chiraq will say about this? I mean, after all, Saddam Hussein loves his people, doesn't he?

A LIVE CABLE attached to the mains and used for giving electric shocks. What does "attached to the mains" mean? Is it a "hot" electrical wire?

This should be a surprise to exactly nobody, although the skiffy liberals and muslim shills will just dismiss this with a hand wave as another of many fabrications. They're a bunch of head-in-the-sand losers.
To: nepdap
It means plugged into the main electricity system of the building.

It's a shame we took so long to invade Iraq. Even more of a shame that any other part of the civilized world community was/is against it. But it's probably just as well that we get Saddam and his sons now. I have a feeling that if Saddam had gone unchallenged, one of his sons would have taken his place and would have started a whole new generation of brutality and corruption.

Saddam really knows how to preach the "religion of peace"...is this from the Quran code of conduct?
Iraq's miranda & civil rights:
You have the right to be tortured.
You have the right to be electrocuted.
You have the right to be strung up on a meat hook.
You have the right to have your tongue cut out in public.

The pro-Saddam, anti-Bush, anti-Blair vermin should be required to spend a few days in this death chamber, and not just a few minutes in police custody in a nation that supports human rights.
They spit on freedom, but embrace terror. Pathetic!
