You can what tell from the gun camera footage what type of Special Forces helicopter was used on the Presidential Palace attack. This was the MH-60L. The second image is from an MH-60L attack on a Iraqi SCUD during 1991.

Iraqi men smiling and waving to the incoming American troops. The Iraqi military has been encouraging the civilians to take up arms and fight American soldiers. The Iraqi civilians are not responding to the crumbling Iraqi government's call to arms.
Staff Sgt. Todd Morton, 27, of Cohoes, N.Y., looks through documents and maps found after 2nd platoon, Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) occupy a hastily abandoned residence in An Najaf, Iraq. The unit searched several buildings turning up uniforms, communication equipment and gas masks, vehicles , dozens of small and large caliber weapons, rocket-propelled grenades, U.S. style uniforms and other personal items, as well as uncovering at least two Russian-made BM21 rocket-launch systems.

In this handout photo from CENTCOM in Doha, Qatar, residents of a small village near the city of An Najaf, Iraq, carry a pot full of water they just filled from a U.S. Army water tank, April 02, 2003. The towns water supply is contaminated. The Armys 422nd Civil Affairs Battalion coordinated the delivery of thousands of gallons of purified water.

Saddam had tons of oil money. He put it all into his bunker (self-preservation) complexes and said Screw You to his own men. These look like WWII piss pots. They wouldn't protect you from a modern sling shot, never mind what we've been throwing at these guys.
